Although the drug initially gives him joy, that same joy gets him into trouble in the next few hours.
The hero, who travels all night drunk without knowing what he is doing, causes many problems. Meanwhile, the police, who are working hard to find the missing child, are also affected by the hero’s intoxication, and the police who are looking for the child are forced to search for the hero. Where does the hero’s addiction ultimately lead him? Has the missing child been recovered? ‘Good Day’ is a night journey that tells the story of how alcoholism takes hold of those who are psychologically affected, and how they degrade themselves in every way. Prithviraj Ramalingam, the hero, has acted with understanding and sensitivity in a story that tells the story of how alcoholism takes hold of those who are psychologically affected, and how they humiliate themselves in every way. Prithviraj Ramalingam, who has perfectly portrayed every stage of alcoholism in his realistic performance, has performed brilliantly in expressing his mental anguish through alcoholism through body language and dialogue delivery. Myna Nandini, who plays the hero’s college friend, is amazing in her acting even in a few scenes. She makes the entire theater laugh in that one scene by showing unexpected shock and longing on her face.
The scenes in which Aadukalam Murugadoss, who plays the husband of Myna Nandini, appear are also amazing.
Kali Venkat, who plays the auto driver, Bhagavathy Perumal, who plays the tailor, Vela Ramamoorthy, who plays the funeral procession at the crematorium, Bose Venkat, who plays the counselor, and Vijay Murugan, who plays the police inspector, pass by as people who attract attention on the hero’s journey.
Although the songs and background score in Govind Vasantha’s music are simple, they have given additional strength to the screenplay and scenes.
Madhan Gunadev, who has done both the work of cinematographer and editor, has shot the scenes using lights so that the audience does not get that feeling even though the story takes place at night. Although the scenes mostly take place on the roads, he has handled the scenes in a way that does not strain the eyes by showing the difference in the light of the lights.
The story written by Prithiviraj Ramalingam, which focuses on the incidents that sometimes occur due to the excessive intoxication of alcoholics, is not an advice for alcoholics, but rather a way to talk about their psychological problems. At the same time, it is not a propaganda that alcohol is not a solution to stress, it only causes more stress, and at the end it also gives a light admonition, “Turn around…”.
More than Karthik Netha’s lyrics and additional dialogue, the character of the preacher he plays and the way he squeezes and secures the cargo glass attract more attention.
Director N. Aravindan, who has directed the film in a way that makes people realize the psychological problems of those who make trouble after drinking, their actions, and the effects they have suffered because of it, does not exaggerate anything, but tells everything in moderation, making the film enjoyable and making the audience think.
While it is a big struggle to get groceries at 10 pm, it is a bit artificial that the hero, who travels in the middle of the struggle, gets groceries wherever he goes. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with the film, and the film will completely satisfy the audience, like the hero’s intoxication.
