Suriya’s ‘Scene’ Set for a Grand Diwali Release on November 6 – Jithu Madhavan Promises a Unique Dark Comedy Entertainer\!

Directed by Jithu Madhavan and starring Suriya, the upcoming film ‘Scene’ is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, coinciding with the Diwali festival. The film features Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, Anandaraj, Lal, Raj Priyan and several others in important roles.

Vineeth Augustine has handled the cinematography, while Sushin Shyam has composed the music. Billed as a mass action entertainer, the film is jointly produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the banners of Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment. Jayshree Damodaran and Rajsekar Pandian serve as co-producers.

The grand audio and trailer launch event was held at a private college campus in Chennai. The film’s cast and crew attended the event, along with special guests Sivakumar and Karthi.

2D Entertainment Co-Producer Rajsekar Pandian said:

“You are going to see Suriya in a completely different avatar in this film. It will be a different experience for all his fans. It is an entertaining film filled with tremendous comedy, fun, mass moments, thrills and lovable characters.

The film will release in theatres on November 6.

2D Entertainment has produced 15 films so far. ‘Scene’ is the first film from Zhagaram Studios. This production house has been established to provide opportunities to the younger generation and emerging talents.

When director Jithu Madhavan narrated this story to us, we couldn’t stop laughing. I thank director Jithu Madhavan, all the technicians and the entire cast for their contributions.”

Zhagaram Studios Co-Producer Jayshree Damodaran said:

“Suriya anna always had a dream of bringing good and meaningful films to audiences. ‘Scene’ is the beginning of that dream through Zhagaram Studios.

For this film, director Jithu Madhavan and the entire technical team travelled from Kerala to Chennai and stayed here for an entire year, working with dedication to bring this project to life.

Films are meant to make people happy, and this film will certainly bring happiness to all of you. The entire team has worked with great commitment and perfection.

We have also identified and provided opportunities to several talented young artistes who have gained popularity through social media.”

Actor Raj Priyan said:

“My hometown is Devakottai, where Suriya’s film ‘Vel’ was shot. I was a young boy at that time. I met Suriya and shook hands with him. Even when I tell people this today, many find it difficult to believe. There were no mobile phones back then either! But today, I don’t even have to explain that experience.

Let me openly admit something. I never initially thought I could enter the film industry because I believed it was not possible for someone like me. I didn’t even know Chennai properly, as I came from a small town like Devakottai.

So, I started imitating scenes from films and posting those videos on social media. During that time, I would often imitate actor Anandaraj. People who watched my videos encouraged me, saying that I had the potential to act in films.

Eventually, I got an opportunity to act in this film directed by Jithu Madhavan.

On the first day, I was told that I would be acting alongside Suriya anna. I have always loved his expressions in the film ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’. I have tried imitating those expressions, but I could never quite get them right!

The music composer Sushin Shyam also gave me an opportunity to write and sing three songs for this film. I thank him for that. Two songs have already been released, and there is one more song yet to come. I am sure that will also be excellent.

So far, my life has been quite a fun and unpredictable journey. I believe things are going to get even better from here!”

Actor Dravid Selvam said:

“In 2013, when a film starring Suriya was released, 15 of us went together as a group to watch the first show on the first day. We bought tickets and entered the theatre, but there were no seats available. Even then, we watched the entire film sitting on the staircase.

Today, I have been given the opportunity to work alongside that very same Suriya anna. This moment is extremely emotional for me.

I thank director Jithu Madhavan for trusting me and selecting me for this role.

The team has also provided opportunities to several talented individuals who became popular through social media.

Naslen is an incredible performer. Once he gets into character, he acts like a whirlwind and a tsunami!”

Distributor Sakthi Velan said:

“Twenty years ago, I met and interacted with Suriya anna through Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja. From that moment onwards, I got the opportunity to work under his guidance.

I came to Chennai from a small town carrying nothing but my dreams. I gradually gained experience in film distribution.

We distributed ‘Singam 2’ across Tamil Nadu through our own theatrical network. Following the film’s tremendous success, Suriya anna called me and appreciated my work. He even presented me with a reward of Rs. 10 lakh.

The happiness I felt when an actor recognised my hard work was beyond words.

After that, I wanted to start my own distribution company. Running a distribution company with offices across Tamil Nadu would require approximately Rs. 1 crore every year, apart from the substantial investment needed to distribute films.

Our company first distributed the film ‘Dhuruvangal 16’. During its success celebration, I met Rajsekar Pandian. He announced on stage that Sakthi Film Factory would handle the distribution of ‘Kadugu’, produced by 2D Entertainment.

After that, I worked on Jyothika ma’am’s film ‘Magalir Mattum’. The success of these films helped Sakthi Film Factory grow. So far, we have distributed more than 300 films.

I strongly believe that all this became possible because I had the opportunity to walk in Suriya anna’s footsteps and work under his guidance.

Suriya continues to do several good things for society. People watching from outside sometimes ask whether he is doing all this for political reasons. In reality, others are turning his good initiatives into political discussions.

I later came to know that around 15 years ago, the heir of a major political party from a neighbouring state had invited Suriya to enter politics and take up the position of state president of that party. Suriya directly declined the offer.

He had made it clear even then that his social activities were driven by his personal interest and that he was not doing them for political reasons or publicity.

Many people wish to place a crown on Suriya anna’s head. But, as far as I am concerned, his head itself is his crown!

Following ‘Karuppu’ and ‘Viswanath & Sons’, I believe ‘Scene’ will become his third consecutive blockbuster.

‘Scene’ is a perfect combination of crime thriller and comedy. Tamil cinema has never seen a film quite like this before. The second half alone has more than five sequences that will create tremendous theatrical moments.

We are waiting for special permission to conduct the 6 AM early morning show in Tamil Nadu. Once we receive the approval, online bookings for the film will begin.”

Actor Anandaraj said:

“This stage is not new to me. I have stood on this very stage before and spoken about another actor. Everyone knows how far he has come today.

Similarly, there is a lot I can say about Suriya. But you can see his achievements for yourselves.

In this film, I play Suriya’s father, and I am very happy about that.

The team has specifically instructed me not to reveal certain details about the film. I intend to respect that request.

I wish director Jithu Madhavan and Suriya a hat-trick of successes through this film. I am confident that it will happen.”

Actor Naslen said:

“I am extremely happy to be here. I have never acted in a Tamil film before, and ‘Scene’ marks my Tamil debut.

The tremendous love and affection shown by Tamil audiences have made me emotional. My heartfelt thanks to everyone.

I hope this love and support continue even after you watch ‘Scene’ on November 6.”

Music Composer Sushin Shyam said:

“This is my first Tamil film as a music composer. Working with ‘The One’ Suriya has been an unforgettable experience.

The film has turned out extremely well. Everyone has worked very hard to create it, and I sincerely hope audiences will enjoy it.”

Actress Nazriya Nazim said:

“It has been a long time since I met all of you, and it has also been a long time since I acted in a Tamil film.

I have always loved the affection shown by Tamil audiences. Thank you for the continued love and support you have given me.

‘Scene’ releases in theatres on November 6. I request everyone to watch and enjoy the film.

The main reason I returned to Tamil cinema after 12 years is ‘The One’ Suriya. To be honest, I feel that a long-standing dream of mine has finally come true.

Another interesting thing is that after 12 years, all the technicians from Kerala travelled together with us on the same flight to Chennai for this film!”

Actor Karthi said:

“Diwali releases have always been very special to all of us.

When I was studying and working as an assistant director, ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ was released. I went to Kamala Theatre in Chennai to watch the film.

Until then, I had always wondered when audiences would turn up for my brother’s films and when they would cheer for him.

In ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, there is an introduction scene where Suriya falls down shouting ‘Maya!’ and the song ‘Uyirin Uyire’ begins playing. The entire theatre erupted with applause, almost as if it had exploded!

That moment filled my heart with immense happiness. It was in that film that I saw my brother in a completely different league.

A little later, I watched ‘Pithamagan’. In that film, he delivers the dialogue ‘Sathiyam Thorpadhillai’. In real life, my brother hardly speaks even a single word at home! But in that film, he keeps talking throughout. I was amazed.

Later, when I joined Mani Ratnam sir as an assistant, my brother acted as Michael in ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’. He was completely different in that role.

I feel that something similar has happened again after many years.

We watched ‘Karuppu’, where he was in God Mode. Then came ‘Viswanath & Sons’. Who else could have played that character so beautifully? He handled it with such elegance. It felt as though we were seeing Sanjay Ramasamy on screen once again.

And now comes ‘Scene’.

After ‘Aavesham’, director Jithu Madhavan has created a film that nobody would have expected. It goes beyond all the expectations of whether it would be like this or like that. He has delivered something completely different, with a strong dose of dark humour.

The famous dialogue ‘Ongi Adichaa Ondra Ton Weight Da’ has been used in a darkly humorous manner. The film is packed with entertainment, and it is particularly special that it is releasing during a festive occasion like Diwali.

I heard that music composer Sushin Shyam has been composing music while staying alone in Goa. Since he stays away from social media and other distractions, I think we can give him the title ‘Isai Sithar’ (musical sage)!

I have also heard that the film has 16 songs.

Director Jithu Madhavan can be described as an introvert. He is always quiet, but he has exploded like fireworks through this film!

If you want to succeed in life, you must first decide what you want to pursue. Then you must work hard towards that goal. Success does not come immediately; sometimes it takes time. Time and God’s blessings will eventually help you achieve it.

As long as fans continue to support him, my brother will keep working enthusiastically and take everyone around him to greater heights.

Whenever I see fans sharing things about my brother on social media, I feel incredibly happy. It makes me proud to see how much people love him and how many consider him their inspiration.”

Actor Suriya said:

“This is a very important occasion – the audio launch of ‘Scene’.

At this moment, I would like to remember Deva sir, who composed the music for my first film, ‘Nerukku Ner’. I offer my prayers and heartfelt respects to him on this stage. He will always remain in our memories.

The tune of ‘Aval Varuvaala’ that he composed continues to be associated with me even today. Deva sir was the starting point of my journey and played an important role in bringing me this far.

What has made this stage beautiful once again is the presence of all of you, my fans, who have travelled here from different parts of Tamil Nadu. It is your love.

It has been 28 years since I made my debut in the film industry. Yet, your affection for me has not diminished even a little. You continue to shower me with love and make me feel special by bringing me onto this stage.

What should a fans’ association stand for? Who are we, and how should we conduct ourselves? We do not have to prove anything to others.

I once told you not to respond to every comment made by others, and you have respected those words by continuing to show unconditional love and maintaining dignity.

We started our blood donation initiative with 500 donors. Today, every year, approximately 5,000 donors come forward to donate blood.

We also have several WhatsApp groups comprising doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs and engineers.

Recently, a young man needed surgery on his leg. We posted a message about his situation in our doctors’ group. Immediately, the doctors stepped forward, and the surgery was successfully performed free of cost.

All these people are part of one family. That is my family.

Jo and I watched Jithu’s film ‘Romancham’ and laughed throughout. I also liked his film ‘Aavesham’. Every world he creates is different from the others. I believe ‘Scene’ will also be something very different.

This year is particularly special for me because three of my films are releasing. I think the last time I had three releases in a year was with ‘Maayavi’, ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Aaru’.

I listened to the story of ‘Karuppu’ for just 45 minutes before deciding to act in it.

After continuously acting in action films, I wanted to explore family-oriented subjects, which is why I chose ‘Viswanath & Sons’. You appreciated that film as well.

Similarly, ‘Scene’ will be a film that you would not have expected from me.

I feel proud that I am part of the first Tamil film of music composer Sushin Shyam.

I request everyone to come to the theatre without any preconceived expectations, relax and enjoy the film.

Actor Dhanush mentioned in a tweet that he was postponing his film to make way for Suriya’s film. I thank him for that gesture.

I often have a question about success. What does it take to succeed? Is success alone enough?

We see both success and failure in our everyday lives. They are part of life.

At the age of 20, we want to get a job. At 25, we want to have a certain amount of money in our bank account. At 30, we want to buy a house. By 50, we dream of building a grand home.

I have now crossed 50. At this stage of my life, what I truly desire is peace of mind and good health. I believe these two things are essential. If we have them, everything else will fall into place.

I cannot choose my parents or my siblings. I was born into the family I have. But people often say that choosing a life partner is different.

The person who now holds my hand and leads me forward in life is my Jyothika. I sincerely thank her for that.

Have faith in life. Life is beautiful.

As long as we are breathing, everything can be reconsidered. Anything can change, and anything can be corrected.

Until our last breath, there is no such thing as complete failure. Nothing is over. Nothing is permanently lost. Nothing is broken beyond repair.

Everything can be set right.”
