Sigma Movie Review

Suffering from a debt of more than Rs. 1 crore incurred by his father, Sandeep Kishan runs a library in memory of his mother. He also runs a YouTube channel where he presents the books available in his library in audio format. Through this, he becomes friends with Faria Abdullah. With her help, he starts earning money through YouTube and decides to use that money for gambling in an attempt to get out of his financial troubles. However, he is cheated by the people running the gambling den and ends up losing all the money he had.

At this point, Sandeep Kishan gets hold of a key to a vault containing several thousand crore dollars. However, unaware of its true significance, he tries to solve his financial problems by using something else hidden within the key. As his attempts continue to fail, the film unfolds the questions of whether Sandeep Kishan eventually manages to overcome all his problems, whether he discovers the truth about the vault key, and who the vault actually belongs to. This is what ‘Sigma’ presents in the action-comedy genre.

Films starring Sandeep Kishan usually have strong storylines and engaging screenplays. In that line-up, this film also has the potential to become another notable film for the actor. Sandeep Kishan excels in both action and comedy, and his performance adds considerable strength to the film.

Faria Abdullah, who plays the female lead, has not been utilized effectively. Although she has the image of a heroine, her character does not have a major role in the screenplay.

Shiv Pandit, who plays the villain, looks stylish and youthful. If he continues to choose good stories, he has the potential to help fill the shortage of strong villains in Tamil cinema.

Sampath Raj, Anbu Thasan, Yogi Babu, Sheela Rajkumar, Mahalakshmi Sudarsan, Kamalesh Jegan, Kiran Konda, Naga Sai and the other actors have delivered good performances in their respective roles.

Cinematographer Krishnan Vasant has captured the visuals on a grand scale. The action sequences are particularly impressive.

The songs composed by Thaman S have a commercial appeal and an energetic feel. The background score effectively enhances the speed and excitement of the scenes.

Editor Praveen K.L. has also done a commendable job.

Although the story is familiar, director Jason Sanjay has given it a different treatment through his screenplay. He has used all the elements that appeal to commercial cinema audiences in the right proportions and kept the film engaging throughout.

Director Jason Sanjay keeps the film moving at a fast pace through action and chase sequences, while the comedy scenes add a lively touch. Overall, he has delivered a complete entertainer that is likely to satisfy audiences.
