The hero, Sudharsan Govind, comes from a family that strongly disapproves of love marriages. Ironically, he tries to create an app dedicated to love and relationships.

The heroine, Archenaa Ravi, who grows up in an orphanage, does not believe in family life and prefers to live independently while pursuing her dream of becoming a film director.

To understand love better for his app, the hero decides to fake a romantic relationship with a girl. Similarly, the heroine decides to fake a relationship with someone in order to write a love story.

As fate would have it, these two—both intending to “fake love”—meet each other. How this fake relationship changes their thoughts and lives forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Sudharsan Govind, despite having the physical presence of an action hero, delivers a restrained performance as an innocent character. He shows variation in both appearance and acting before and after falling in love, and appears skilled in acting and dance.

Archenaa Ravi, as the heroine, is a suitable match for the hero. Though her character has importance in the screenplay, her performance doesn’t create a strong impact.

Supporting actors including Prathu, Noble James, Vidya, Y. Gee Mahendran, Nizhalgal Ravi, M.J. Sriram, and Rethika Srinivas contribute effectively to the flow of the story.

Technical Aspects

Cinematographer Raja Pattar Georgie enhances the visual quality and successfully conveys the emotions of the lovers to the audience.

Ashwin Hemanth’s songs may not be highly memorable, but they are listenable with commercial appeal. The background score is adequate.

Editor S.A. Nagarjun’s work supports the film well.

Direction & Theme

Director Ashokkumar Kalaivani attempts to emotionally portray how love can transform people who initially have no interest in it. He handles the screenplay and visuals in a simple and straightforward manner.

Though the story revolves entirely around love, presenting it with a family backdrop adds some interest. However, the lack of innovative elements makes the screenplay feel slightly weak.

That said, the moments where genuine love emerges from the initially fake relationship serve as the film’s biggest strength.

Final Verdict

“Nee Forever” is a simple romantic drama that works in parts, especially when it focuses on the emotional transition from fake love to real love.
