Aadhavan, a hero who lives in a hill village without road facilities and medical facilities, questions the rulers who come to meet them only during election time and gets into a fight with the forest guards who come with them. Due to this, the forest officer who gets angry with him is waiting for the right time to take revenge on him. Leaving his pregnant wife alone and descending from the mountain, the forest officer and the guards try to kill Aadhavan. On the other hand, his wife goes into labor pains and before he can be taken to the hospital from the village where there is no transportation facility, the mother and the child are in danger.
The hero is trapped by the forest guards and fights for his life, while the villagers fight to save his pregnant wife and unborn child. What happened to their struggle in the end? ‘Kevi’ is a story that reflects the painful lives of the people.
Sheela, who plays a pregnant woman, acts naturally and innocently as always and wins the hearts of the audience. Even though she is suffering from labor pains, she captivates the audience with her emotional performance.
Jacqueline, who plays a trainee doctor, Charles Vinoth, who plays a forest officer, Gayathri, who plays the head doctor, Vivek Mohan, who plays the role of Kadukka, Dharmadurai Jeeva, and Omar Farooq, who plays the postman, are all suitable choices for the roles played in the film.
Aadhavan, who plays the role of a Malayan as the hero of the story, is not only a suitable choice for the role, but has also acted well. He is disturbed in the scene where he is trapped by the forest guards and fights for his life. Every time he escapes and is caught by them again, the audience is worried.Cinematographer Jagan Jayasuriya has skillfully conveyed the dangerous mountain villages and the pain of the people living there to the audience.
Music by composer Balasubramanian.ji, with lyrics by Vairamuthu, Yugabharathi, and Vinayan, all the songs reflect the storyline. The background music makes the audience feel the danger in the storyline from the very beginning of the film and keeps the audience on a tense journey till the end.
Editor Hari Kumaran, starting from the accident that occurs at the beginning of the film and ending with the final scene, has skillfully compiled the dangers that these people face every day and their lives beyond them.
In this modern era of technological advancement, director Tamil Dayalan has realistically depicted the pain of people living in villages without medical facilities and road facilities, and the daily sacrifices they face. He has also boldly spoken about the rulers who only meet them during election times.
