The cricket board decides to remove Siddharth, who was celebrated as the star player of the Indian cricket team, from the team and give a chance to a new one. Therefore, Siddharth is forced to announce his retirement. However, Siddharth, who does not want to end his cricket career with a defeat, wants to announce his retirement only after proving his skills by playing in the last Test match between India and Pakistan. Thus, he is determined to play in that Test match.
Madhavan, a scientist who discovers a method of running vehicles using hydrogen extracted from water as fuel, is trying to get recognition for his invention. Although his wife Nayanthara travels to support her husband’s ambition, at one point she gives up everything and comes to the conclusion that a life as a husband and a child is enough. A man who has been married for many years and has no children decides to undergo medical treatment as a last resort.
These three travel in anticipation of the last chance of their dreams and see it as the last moment to prove themselves to this world. Thus, the cricket match that brings the three of them, who are traveling with the idea that their dreams should somehow come true, puts them in a huge test. The ‘test’ is to tell whether they have passed that test and achieved the success they had hoped for in life through the game of human ego.
Madhavan, Siddharth and Nayanthara, who play the main characters, have acted monstrously. To the extent that it is impossible to immediately answer the question of who has acted better among the three, each of them has used the opportunities they have received correctly and expressed even the smallest reactions in an amazing way.
Madhavan, who plays a loser who is angry at the world that follows the winner, has menacingly revealed the villainous avatar that he takes for money, even though he tolerates everything for the recognition of his invention.
Success does not come easily, Siddharth, who plays a character who focuses only on securing that success until the end, has conveyed his intense mood to the audience with his restrained performance.
Nayanthara, who speaks in her own voice, attracts attention by acting realistically in the role of women who yearn for a child.
Meera Jasmine, who plays Siddharth’s wife, has been given a small opportunity to show that she is also in the film. She has used it properly and called it Meera Jasmine’s return.
Those who have played small roles including Kaali Venkat and Aadukalam Murugadoss have also added strength to the screenplay with their restrained performances.
The songs and background music in the music of composer Shakthishree Gopalan have traveled in a way that adds strength to the storyline.
The work of cinematographer Viraj Singh Kohli has increased the quality of the film. The way the cricket matches are presented in particular gives the feeling of watching a real cricket match rather than a cinematic one.
The work of editor D.S. Suresh, art directors N. Madhusudhan and Swetha Sabu Cyril has added extra speciality to the film.
Written and directed by S. Sashikanth, using the cricket match as the stage, has vividly and interestingly told the story of people who play with ego in life and the trials they face.
Director S. Sashikanth has emphatically recorded that the winners celebrated by the world did not reach that place easily, and that it is not enough to just want to succeed in life, you have to make an effort to do so until the end. The screenplay, which combines the mental struggles of the three characters with the game of cricket, makes the audience watch the film with the expectation of what will happen next from the beginning to the end.
