Veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is set to present his long-cherished dream project, Sing Geetham, to audiences. The film is produced by Nag Ashwin under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The film stars Ayaan, Ahalya Bamroo, and Shalini Kondepudi in key roles, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

The teaser and songs released so far have received a positive response from audiences. Ahead of the film’s worldwide theatrical release on June 11, the team held a grand pre-release event in Chennai, attended by special guest Kamal Haasan.

Kamal Haasan’s Speech

“Greetings to everyone. From Maya Bazaar to Sing Geetham, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao has remained unchanged. Cinema still lives within him, and that is something very rare.

I began working with him when I was around 20 years old. I have worked with him as a producer and even as an assistant director. My only goal was to work alongside him.

Many years ago, he narrated two stories to me. One eventually became Pushpaka Vimana. The second story is now becoming Sing Geetham. I heard that story when I was 20 years old; now I am 70 and finally getting to watch it on screen.

Some ideas and stories never age. Singeetam Sir’s stories are timeless. Many people mistakenly pronounce his name as ‘Sangeetham,’ but after this film there will be no confusion—everyone will say ‘Singeetam.’

While filming Kalki 2898 AD, we worked in a hot studio. But Pushpaka Vimana was shot in the comfort of an air-conditioned five-star hotel. We proudly used to say that the entire film was made under air-conditioning!

Similarly, we thoroughly enjoyed making Mumbai Xpress together.

Even today, Singeetam Sir is ahead of Gen Z. Celebrating him is a joy. I would still like to be his assistant director.

Cinema is an art form that must be created with passion. This team is bringing the film to audiences with that same passion. When a film is made with true passion, it can achieve unexpected success. Pushpaka Vimana is a perfect example.

I feel as though I have produced this film myself. I feel like a co-producer. Nag Ashwin knows that. Had this film been produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, I would have been even happier.

If I had known about this project three months earlier, I would have joined the team myself. But I have complete faith in Singeetam Sir and believe another opportunity to work with him will definitely come.”

Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s Speech

“This film is the realization of a 40-year dream. The idea was born from the belief that words themselves could become songs.

By divine grace, I finally got the opportunity to make this film with Nag Ashwin and Vyjayanthi Movies. Though I directed the film from beginning to end, Nag Ashwin and the producers took complete responsibility for the production with immense affection and care.

Nag Ashwin is a world-renowned filmmaker. His willingness to produce this film brought me great happiness. In fact, he seemed to love me even more than the film itself.

The credit for this project belongs entirely to him.

Devi Sri Prasad understood the story perfectly. I believe no one else could have given this film such wonderful music.

Nag Ashwin treated me like a father and showed me tremendous respect. I sincerely thank him, Aswini Dutt, Devi Sri Prasad, and my dear Kamal Haasan. Kamal attending this event means a great deal to me because we share a very special bond.”

Devi Sri Prasad’s Speech

“Greetings to everyone. Thank you to Kamal Haasan Sir, Singeetam Sir, and everyone gathered here.

Listening to Kamal Sir share his life experiences today has been inspiring. His thoughts about passion were especially motivating.

Aswini Dutt has produced many extraordinary films. To describe him, one only needs to mention Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. Similarly, to describe Singeetam Sir, one only needs to say Pushpaka Vimana.

These legends have one thing in common—they always place music first.

I consider it a blessing to compose music for Sing Geetham. Working on this film fulfilled a long-standing dream of mine.

Every actor in the film has sung in their own voice, which makes the project even more special. This film will certainly provide audiences with a fresh and unique experience.”

Ayaan’s Speech

“I thank Singeetam Sir, Vyjayanthi Movies, and Nag Ashwin for selecting me for the role of Prathap.

Sing Geetham is a wonderful gift from Singeetam Sir. I will proudly call myself a hero introduced by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao for the rest of my life.

Kamal Haasan is a legend and an inspiration to all of us. Having Devi Sri Prasad compose music for our film is a great blessing.”

Ahalya Bamroo’s Speech

“It is a privilege to act alongside such legendary personalities.

I never imagined I would get the opportunity to work with Singeetam Sir. Being part of a celebration attended by Kamal Haasan is truly special.

I am grateful to Nag Ashwin for giving opportunities to newcomers like us. Thanks to Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, our dream has become a reality.”

The entire cast and crew attended the event, expressing their excitement and gratitude.

Sing Geetham is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 11.
