India, June 23, 2026: ZEE5, India’s leading homegrown streaming platform, is set to premiere Mammattiyan Stars, an emotional and entertaining sports drama series, from June 26. Directed by Savir Sudhakar and produced by Singaravelan under the SS Group banner, this six-episode Tamil original series serves as a heartfelt tribute to cricket fans and the extraordinary lengths they go to for the sport they love.
Written by Savir Sudhakar, Naveen Rajkumar, Kalai Selvan, and Vinu Karthikeyan, the series stars Vaibhav Murugesan, Lavanya Anbalagan, Venkata Balamurali, Jagabar Sadique, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, and Vivek Prasanna in pivotal roles. With cinematography by P.M. Rajkumar, editing by Pavithran, and production design by Tamizhselvan BFA, Mammattiyan Stars vividly captures the excitement, emotions, and camaraderie that define Tamil Nadu’s cricket culture.
The story revolves around a group of passionate cricket fans from a small village who embark on an unforgettable journey to Chennai to witness the final match of their cricketing hero. What begins as a dream trip soon turns into an adventure filled with friendship, emotions, and unexpected twists. Along the way, they face several challenges that test their determination and ultimately discover that the journey itself can be more memorable than the destination.
