The protagonist, Guhan Chakkaravarthiyar, a popular businessman from Thoothukudi district, is heartbroken by his unhappy married life. While alone on the beach, he is shocked to witness his former girlfriend attempting suicide and saves her. Learning that his former girlfriend’s married life is similar to his own, Guhan Chakkaravarthiyar commits a murder to help her rebuild her life and begins living with her.
Meanwhile, the person murdered by Guhan Chakkaravarthiyar contacts his girlfriend by phone and threatens her. While confused about how a dead person could be speaking, some incidents occur that frighten his girlfriend, who is living alone. Further confused, Guhan Chakkaravarthiyar tries to find out who is threatening him and his girlfriend. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Guhan Chakkaravarthiyar, who has acted in and directed the film, captivates the audience in the style of Rajinikanth, like a ‘White Vijayakanth’, dominating the entire screen. He embodies all the qualities of a Tamil cinema hero: the action-packed attitude of confronting wrongdoers, love for his wife, concern for his former girlfriend, a calm demeanor that respects everyone, and a charitable nature that helps the poor.
The two heroines, playing the roles of the protagonist’s wife and former girlfriend, are not merely used as commercial heroines for songs and romantic scenes, but also portray characters crucial to the story. The experienced performances of Ponnambalam, Vaiyapuri, and Vasu Vikram have added strength to the film. Numerous newcomers make brief appearances without seeming to understand their roles.
The song, written focusing on Dravidian leaders and Tamil cinema heroes, is noteworthy. The background music also complements the scenes well. The cinematography is decent.
Kugan Chakravarthy, who single-handedly shouldered the film by working in 21 departments including story, screenplay, dialogues, direction, cinematography, and music, clearly demonstrates his intense passion for cinema in every frame. In particular, his every movement as an actor is incredibly stylish, enough to impress even mass heroes.
The film, which begins as a mass action story, then shifts to a family drama and later returns to a suspense thriller path. This multi-genre screenplay, with its many unexpected twists, creates various confusions in the minds of the audience.
While Kugan Chakravarthy impresses as an actor, as a director, he leaves the audience bewildered. He makes you wonder, “Is this even a film…!”, and in many places, he also shocks you with the thought, “Is this really a film…!”
