Along with the way the social conflicts that took place in the southern districts in the 90s affected the youth and their lives changed as a result, ‘Bison’ is a flesh and blood story of the painful and obstacle-filled life of a kabaddi player.
Director Mari Selvaraj, who has narrated the painful journey of success of a sportsman who breaks obstacles and progresses, against the backdrop of the life of his land and people, and the hero Dhruv Vikram, who has given life to his imagination and dreams, amazes the audience throughout the film.
The hero Dhruv Vikram, who is preparing himself physically for the title Bison, and the scenes where he stands on the field as a Kabaddi player make the audience sit up straight. Dhruv Vikram, who has worked hard to show the difference in appearance during his school days and when he is on the field as a Kabaddi player, carries the entire film on his shoulders.
Pasupathi, who plays Dhruv Vikram’s father, expresses various emotions through his eyes and conveys his father’s anxiety to the audience.
Anupama Parameswaran, who plays the heroine, Rajisha Vijayan, who plays the hero’s sister, Aruvi Madhan, who plays the teacher, director Ameer, and Lal, act in a way that does justice to the characters and make them stand out in the minds of the people.
All the songs by composer Nivas K. Prasanna are worth listening to again and again, and make the audience clap and whistle in the theater. The background music that reflects the culture of the land and the people has traveled vividly to the scenes.
Cinematographer Ezhil Arasu.K has given the viewers the experience of traveling through the southern district landscape.
Written and directed by Mari Selvaraj, the social conflicts of the Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi landscape and the anger and pain of that land are conveyed to the audience through various symbols, and he amazes the audience throughout the film with his unique storytelling.
Although the film talks about the violent incidents that happen in the life of a young man due to caste and other reasons, director Mari Selvaraj, who has handled the screenplay and scenes in a way that celebrates all communities, has emphatically recorded that there is a struggle for everyone to be equal here, and a struggle to protect the existing respect, although it is not known why, which has emerged at some point and is still causing many harms to many people.
