Atharvaa, a new constable, and six others are sent on patrol. When they see a man coming out of a sewage tunnel on the road, they try to question him, but he runs away. The six others who follow him end up trapped in a deserted slum. There, a group led by Ashwin Kakumanu is busy executing a huge conspiracy.
Seeing them, the six constables try to question them, but Ashwin Kakumanu unexpectedly kills the constables. Atharvaa and the other constables try to escape from them, but they are unable to find a way out of the area. Meanwhile, the attachment letter of the six constables is lying there. The police officers, who are shocked to see their attachment letter at the police station, escaped from there. Who is Ashwin Kakamanu? What is his conspiracy? How did Atharvaa, who has nothing to do with this, get caught? ‘Thanal’ is a thrilling answer to these questions.
Atharvaa, who has played a moderate role in the film as the hero of the story rather than the hero, has been intimidating in the action scenes. He has played a responsible young man who has no worries about his parents and has understood reality and has expressed his fear of life and the anxiety of saving his friends in the scenes where he tries to escape from the villains in order to survive.
Despite being a villain, the character of Ashwin Kakamanu, who occupies an equal place with the hero of the story, and his performance and appearance are the biggest strengths of the film. Even though the story travels to a specific place, Ashwin Kakkamanu’s character design and his acting have helped the film travel in a way that does not create such a feeling.
Although Lavanya Tripathi, who plays the heroine, does not have much work, she is used to move the film forward in the initial stages and for some entertainment features.
Shara, Selva, Alagam Perumal, Bose Venkat, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Bharat, Sharva, Thafiq, Pradeep K. Vijayan, who have played other roles, have also traveled to add strength to the flow of the screenplay.
Cinematographer Shakthi Saravanan’s work has added great strength to the film. He has depicted both the night time and the dense slum area in a way that makes the audience feel tense.
If the songs in Justin Prabhakaran’s music are hit songs, the background music is menacing. He has made a difference to the story that moves in one place through his background music and has kept the screenplay moving without faltering anywhere.
Film editor Kalaivannan, despite the fast-paced and exciting screenplay, has edited some emotional scenes in such a way that they connect with the audience.
Written and directed by Ravindra Madhava, he has given a thrilling action thriller based on a true encounter incident.
The film takes you into the story in about 20 minutes from the start, and from that point until the final scene, he moves the film interestingly with twists and turns that keep the audience’s full attention on the screen.
