G.V. Prakash Kumar, a truck driver, is forced into a dilemma where he can only rescue his girlfriend who has been kidnapped by his employer if he has Rs. 50 lakhs. He tries various ways to get the money. Meanwhile, Bindu Madhavi, the wife of businessman Srikanth, is blackmailed by her ex-lover Linga and tries to extort money from her.
In this situation, knowing about G.V. Prakash Kumar’s need for money, Linga hatches a plan to kidnap businessman Srikanth’s child through him. However, before G.V. Prakash Kumar can kidnap the child, the child is kidnapped by someone else. Since there is money to be earned by kidnapping the child, G.V. Prakash Kumar is involved in trying to find the child, and the child is continuously kidnapped by different parties. Who are the people behind this kidnapping? And why are they trying to kidnap the child? The story of the film ‘Blackmail’ is a thrilling one.
G.V. Prakash Kumar has played the role of an innocent truck driver with understanding. He is ready to do any mistake to save his pregnant girlfriend, and although he has expressed a variety of emotions very well, it is seen that he has stumbled in his acting in many places in emotional scenes.
Although Teju Ashwini, who plays the heroine, has a small role on the screen, his character is the focal point for the movement of the screenplay, so he captivates the audience.
Srikanth, who plays a businessman, has added extra specialness to his character with his experienced acting.
Bindu Madhavi, who plays Srikanth’s wife, has emotionally acted as she is blackmailed by her ex-lover and fights to save the kidnapped child.
Linga, who is intimidating in villainy, shines in her acting. Saji, Redin Kingsley, Muthukumar, Ramesh Thilak, who have played other roles, have performed flawlessly.
The songs and background score by Sam.CS have added strength to the film. The song for transgenders is in a way that makes you listen to it once more.
Cinematographer Gokul Binoy has used colors and angles to attract attention, befitting the suspense thriller genre.
Although editor Shawl Lokesh’s screenplay moves at a fast pace and the scenes are vibrant, he has edited the scenes in a way that conveys both the struggle of a mother fighting to rescue her kidnapped child and the tension of a lover trying to rescue his captive girlfriend to the audience.
The way M. Maran, who has written and directed, has set the screenplay for two different blackmail incidents against the backdrop of child kidnapping is not only vibrant but also unpredictable.
The film is fast-paced from start to finish, and the unexpected twists and turns of the child abduction add to the film’s excitement. At the same time, the screenplay suddenly becomes lame as the child abduction continues, seemingly repeating the same thing over and over again. Aside from this flaw, it is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and provide a complete suspense thriller experience.
