Famous writer Nagarajan Kannan creates four main characters in his story, namely Dada, a poor housewife, a student preparing for the NEET exam, and a middle-class woman. He creates the backgrounds and justifications of these characters based on the ideas that come to his mind. However, his friends tell him that his ideas are wrong. His writer ego refuses to accept it.
One day, the four characters he created in the story and their family members demand justice for them. They follow the writer Nagarajan wherever he goes. Nagarajan, who is confused about whether this is true or not, tries to find a solution to this problem through his story. ‘Mayakkuthu’ is the story that tells what happens next with an interesting screenplay.
Nagarajan Kannan, who plays the hero of the story, the writer Vasan, has performed brilliantly as a writer with a sense of humor.
Delhi Ganesh, who plays the role of a publisher, has added great strength to the film with his experienced and realistic performance.
Rekha Kumanan, Gayathri, Professor M. Ramasamy, Deena, Murugan Govindaswamy, Brigatheeswaran, Aishwarya Raghupathi, who have played other characters, have fully absorbed the story and their character traits.
Anjana Rajagopalan, who made her debut as a music director through this film, has given attention-grabbing music in her first film.
Cinematographer Sundar Ram Krishnan has kept his camera moving along with the characters. The story is praised for its naturalness and realistic performances.
Editor Nagooran Ramachandran, who has edited the film, realizing the importance of the screenplay, has cut out unnecessary scenes and characters, which has added great strength to the screenplay.
The unique storyline and interesting screenplay by A.R. Raghavendra and M. Srinivasan easily captivate the audience’s imagination.
Hero Nagarajan Kannan also gains attention as a dialogue writer with many lines including “Everything we believe to be right or wrong is something said by some creator, so the creator has a lot of responsibility.”
Director A.R. Raghavendra, who has handled the different and new attempt of what would happen if the characters in the story appeared in person, has made the audience travel with the film very skillfully.
Even though the newcomers, the technical artists, and the story writers are all completely new, their innovative efforts and the way they are expressed in screen language make for a great viewing experience.
