Marking her second directorial, Kangana Ranaut unveils the motion poster and final release date of forthcoming period drama titled Emergency.
Sharing the motion poster on her social media, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “A protector or a Dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared a war on its people. #Emergency releasing worldwide on 24th November”
Emergency is a biographical historical drama film directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut, from a screenplay by Ritesh Shah and story by Ranaut.
Emergency narrates the story of the internal emergency declared by Indira Gandhi on June 25, 1975. It lasted till March 21, 1977, when the Janata Party was voted to power in a historic election.
The film features Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhary as Pupul Jayakar, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Vishak Nair as Sanjay Gandhi and Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram.
It marks the posthumous film of Satish Kaushik following his death on 8 March 2023.
The film is now slated for 24th November 2023 release.
