Racer Movie Review

The hero Akhil Santosh has been interested in bikes and bike races since his childhood. After that, he travels with the ambition of becoming a bike racer, but he gets no support from his family. However, in his ambition to somehow succeed, has the traveler become a bike racer as he thought? Isn’t it? That is the story of the film ‘Razor’.

Akhil Santosh, who is playing the hero, has acted very elegantly unlike the first film. He crawls very naturally like the boy next door, asking his father for what he wants and getting it, then pacifying himself when he doesn’t get it.

Lavanya, who is playing the heroine, has used the opportunity well even though she has fewer scenes.

Auru Bala, who plays the role of a bike mechanic, shines as a source of comfort and hope for those who travel with ambition and are unable to succeed.

Playing the hero’s father, Murthy’s performance gets as much attention as the hero. Even though he is a child of the house, he has shown in the performance that he resists his wishes and then understands and fulfills his son’s wishes.

The characters and performances of Sarath, Nirmal and Satish, who play the hero’s friends, are noteworthy. Moreover, all their comedy scenes are laughable and add strength to the film.

Arvind as the villain, Anish as the hero’s trainer and Parvathy as the mother have all done their job flawlessly.

It has to be said that cinematographer Prabhakar has traveled according to the budget rather than according to the story. The cinematographer who has tried to shoot the bike race scenes grandly with the limited facilities available to him has had some success in it.

Music composer Bharat’s songs and background music add strength to the story.

Cinematographer Ajith NM has edited the film in a fast moving manner and kept the scenes concise and enjoyable.

Making a film based on the expensive sport of bike racing means that the investment must be huge. But director Chad Rex should first be commended for his efforts in directing such a film with the small budget and small facilities available to him.

Since it is a bike race, the director Chats Rex, who makes the film enjoyable by telling the mental struggles of a middle-class youth who wants to participate in such a competition, not just a competition, has added strength to the film by displaying the scenes between father and son in a very natural way.

The childhood flashback scenes where Nayagaan tells about his interest in bikes and bike races, followed by Nayagaan’s friend’s story about the almond milk his grandfather got, are entertaining and laugh-out-loud.

The director, who emphasized the idea that youths who are interested in bike racing, will not race on the roads if they get a proper field and recognition, the way the director said that no matter what the children achieve in such sports, parents’ permission is a known fact and the reason for this is not only the money but also the danger involved.

All in all, victory is assured for ‘Razor’ who has handled the massive effort with such modesty
