Pratap Krishna & Manoj Kumar A of EINFACH STUDIOS have produced the film ‘Kondraal Paavam’, directed by Dayal Padmanabhan. The film features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Santhosh Prathap in the lead roles with Eswari Rao, Charlie and many others in the pivotal roles. Sam CS has composed music for this film. With the film hitting screens worldwide on March 10, 2023, the audio and trailer launch was held in Chennai.
Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu said, “I am glad to be here for this occasion. Especially, I would like to congratulate Sarath Kumar for his outstanding performance in Varisu. It is very much evident that the entire team comprising the actors and technicians have done a tremendous hard work. I congratulate director Dayal for completing the entire project on time. Sam CS’s musical score is going to be one of the biggest attractions. I wish the entire team, a huge success.”
Editor Preethi Mohan said, “I thank producers Prathap sir and Mohan sir for giving this opportunity. This is my third film with director Dayal sir. The film’s shooting was completed in 14 days, and the postproduction work was done in just 16 days. Editing this film was so easy, as the performance of actors, were totally amazing. Cinematographer Chezhiyan said, “I have worked with eminent directors like Bala and Balaji Sarathkumar, and I could have the same experience working with director Dayal. Music Director Sam CS said, “This is an organic film, and will have not a cinematic approach. There are few films that have characters connecting with audiences, and Kondraal Paavam will be one such movie. Both the story and the film’s climax impressed me a lot. Dayal sir had a good clarity, and this made the entire process easier. While working on KP, I had several other projects including Disney+ Hotstar’s The Night Manager web series. But I wanted to make sure that all the projects have the best from me. The actors have delivered a naturalistic performance in this movie, which is going to be the salient part. Working in a musical film has been my long run dream, and am glad that it has happened with Kondraal Paavam.”
Actor Sendrayan said, “Director Dayal sir is a good-hearted human and talented filmmaker. He approached me stating that my role in this movie will be quite different from what I had done so far. I have played the role of a visually impaired person. I am so happy to see that the final output has turned out so well. The film has come out very well, and it will be liked by all.”
Actor Charlie said, “I have worked with two generation of actors in the Tamil industry. Just when I was thinking that it has always been father-son combination, this is the first time, I working with a father-daughter. Varalaxmi is an extraordinary talent, and she belongs to a rare breed of actress, who can fit into any regional industry. Dayal Padmanabhan has proved his calibre as a top-notch filmmaker in various industries, and has come back here to the destination. Over the years, Varalaxmi is the first-ever heroine to get properly trained in stage plays and that makes her unique. Santhosh is a calm, focussed and talented actor. The entire team has worked a lot that has shown a good result in the film’s output.”
Director Subramaniam Siva said, “When I approached Dayal to remake the film in Tamil, he told me that Allu Aravind sir wanted him to do the Telugu remake. But to my surprise, he completed the entire shoot in just few days, and came back asking if he remake it in Tamil too. It was amazing and surprising. He is such an outstanding personality, and he gave up his mainstream job for the sake of his passion for cinema. His film has literature, and it’s so nice to have him here in the Tamil film industry. I have done a small role in this movie, and I thank Dayal for this. Varalaxmi is a tremendous performer. Santhosh and all the others have exerted a great support for this film.”
Actor Santhosh Prathap said, “I had watched the original version before shooting for the Tamil remake. However, after watching our Tamil version, I couldn’t get out of that world so soon. I thank director Dayal sir, and the producers for giving me an opportunity. Varalaxmi has been a great support for this project. I started respecting all the actors, because of her great gesture and good nature. I thank Sarath Kumar sir for being her for the occasion to wish us. Everyone in the team were so friendly, and I had a wonderful feel like spending time with family during the shooting. I believe this film will be a good hit, and hope to meet you at the success meet.”

I didn’t want to watch the original version in Kannada, because I wanted to experience the magic directly in Tamil. I have strong confidence that the film will be a great success. Actress Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar said, “This project was exciting throughout the process. The film has given me a complete satisfaction and enthrallment. The entire film is based on the performances, where every single actor got benefitted. Sam CS is the hero of today for his outstanding music. After Vikram Vedha, he has delivered an amazing work for this movie. Chezhiyan sir is my favourite, and it was a lovely experience working with him. Working with the entire league of actors was so nice, and it was more like working together as a family. Santhosh is an effortless actor, and he does every single shot with lots of input and dedication. I was supposed to work in both the Tamil and Telugu versions of this film, but it didn’t happen. I thank Dayal sir for giving such a great project for me. This will be a special and close to my heart film forever. Director Dayal Padmanabhan said, “This is an emotional moment for me. I was supposed to make a Tamil movie before a long time, but waited for the right opportunity. I am glad that my long run dream has come true through the producers. I was supposed to work with Sarath Kumar sir before a long time, and am glad that I have worked with his daughter Varalaxmi. As you all know, it’s a remake of my Kannada movie Aa Karaala Ratri, which is an adaptation of a Kannada play authored by Shri Mohan Habbu. After watching the film, Allu Aravind sir showed interest to remake this film in Telugu for Aha OTT platform. Initially, we were supposed to make this film in both Tamil and Telugu with Varalaxmi. However, it didn’t happen, and later, when situations got perfect to remake the film in Tamil, I approached her, and she immediately agreed to be a part of this film. It’s so amazing to see that she got involved so much to the project, and is helping for a better business, although it’s not a part of her work. I thank cinematographer Chezhian sir, Music Director Sam CS and all the technicians for elevating the film’s impact through their technical expertise. Kondraal Paavam.
