Prabhas Adipurush Release Postponed

The release of Prabhas-starrer Adipurush has been shifted from Sankranti. While an official announcement from production T-Series is awaited, this was on the cards especially after the teaser drew flak from all corners for its shoddy VFX work and misrepresentation of several lead characters. For a film which is mounted on Rs 450 crores budget, the VFX in the teaser looked substandard, causing film aficionados and Prabhas’ fans in general criticizing the work. Also, many felt Saif looked more Turkish than the 10-headed demon king Lankesh.
Prabhas Adipurush Release Postponed
Taking into consideration the feedback received from everyone— trade, public and journalists, it seems the makers have made a wide decision to reschedule the film from Sankranti, which is already occupied by big-ticket flicks like Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy in Telugu. While sources say director Om Raut and T-Series Bhushan Kumar are now looking at a slot in summer, one has to wait for some more time to hear the D-day for the film.

A cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, Adipurush, set 7,000 years ago, sees Prabhas in the role of Raghav, while Kriti Sanon is playing Janaki and Sunny Singh will be seen as Lakshman. To be also presented in 3D and IMAX, the film is a joint production venture between Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair.
