The protest group is trying to liberate the people from Supreme Yashin, who has been living for 200 years without dying with many powers and has created a new world called Complex by appropriating all the resources in the country. At the same time, the elders of the protest group are hoping that a divine child will be born to destroy Supreme Yashin, who has destroyed the word God. Is such a child born?, Who is Supreme Yashin? What is the role of hero Prabhas in the film? It is ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ that is said along with the advanced scientific world and spiritual power.
The story begins at the end of the Mahabharata war and travels hundreds of years through the modern world to the modern era of 2898 AD, through many wars and destructions. It is better to watch the movie after reading the story of Mahabharata as the story of this movie will be somewhat understandable only to those who know the story of Mahabharata.
Even though Prabhas plays the hero in the film, he comes across as an ordinary character. Moreover, his introduction scene and the fight scene that comes with it test the patience of the fans. After ‘Baahubali’, Prabhas did not get a hit film, which made his fans worried, but it is a big tragedy that he did not even get a good scene in this film.
Kamal Haasan plays the villain role of Supreme Yashin. His 200-year-old character design adds strength to the film. But even though we can’t see Kamal Haasan because it’s computer graphics, the climax scene suggests that his performance will be action packed in the second half.
Directors Ramgopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, actors Vijay Devarakonda and Dulquer Salmaan have made special appearances along with Deepika Padukone, who plays the role of a pregnant woman carrying the divine child, Amitabh Bachchan, who plays Ashwathama, Pashupati.
Cinematographer DJORDJE STOJILJKOVIC Although the visual effects work side-tracks the film, the cinematography is also commendable.
Santhosh Narayan’s music complements the grandeur of the film.
Cinematographer Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao is a bit faltering in the first half, but in the second half he has edited the scenes with speed and elegance to give the film an interesting twist.
Director Nag Ashwin, who has created a huge science fiction story similar to Hollywood films and told it along with Indian mythology, although the way of handling the scientific aspects is enjoyable, the upholding of Hindutva ideology weakens the film.
All the visual effects in the film are of good quality. Although you can definitely watch the film once for this, the director who does not know how to show Prabhas as a hero, has dumbed down his character and leaves the fans to sleep in his scenes.
The first half starts with the science marvels but the action sequences in the second half make the film enjoyable. At the same time, many scenes of the film prove that this is not a science film but a spiritual film and also explain that there is going to be a fierce battle between science and spirituality in the second part.
