Even as the teaser of Vijay’s Mersal is breaking many new records, the High Court has issued an order which has shocked the makers of the movie and the actor’s fans.
A case was filed by producer Rajendran in which he had stated that in 2014 he had kept Mersalaiten as the name of his movie.
He further stated that now Sri Thenandal Films has got the trademark rights for Mersal which has affected Mersalaiten.
After hearing the plea, the High Court has said that makers of Mersal should not do any promotions using the movie name till 3 October.
Sri Thenandal Films has asked the Court to reconsider the judgment as they have bankrolled the movie in a huge budget.
