A heart-touching song beautifully captures a father’s love and longing for his son while living away from him.
The first single, titled ‘Thangapulla’, from actor Jiiva’s upcoming film ‘Thagappan’, produced by Lark Studios and directed by Ra. Venkat, has been released by music composer and actor G.V. Prakash Kumar.
Composed by Marshall Robinson, with lyrics penned by Pa. Vijay, the song is sung by Murugavel. Beautifully portraying the depth of the father-son relationship, the pain of separation and a father’s unconditional love, the song has caught the attention of music lovers.
Tamil cinema has featured several songs celebrating the affection and bonding between fathers and their children. However, ‘Thangapulla’ explores a different emotional perspective. It revolves around a father who lives away from his son and secretly cherishes the happy moments in his son’s life from a distance.
The song beautifully captures the longing of a father who cannot openly express his love to his son, yet finds happiness in silently witnessing his son’s joyful moments.
The soothing music, Pa. Vijay’s emotional lyrics and Murugavel’s soulful voice come together to give life to this touching composition. Through its visuals and emotional presentation, the song brings out the unspoken affection hidden in a father’s heart and reminds audiences of the importance of family relationships.
The newly released ‘Thangapulla’ is receiving attention from music lovers.
Set against the backdrop of Madurai and its surrounding regions, ‘Thagappan’ revolves around the father-son relationship, family affection and human emotions.
Following ‘Thenavattu’, Jiiva returns in a full-fledged rural entertainer with this film. Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead.
Produced by K. Kumar, the film has cinematography by M. Sukumar and editing by Nagooran Ramachandran.
Think Music has acquired the audio rights of the film. Even before the completion of the film, Zee Tamil has secured its satellite rights, while ZEE5 has acquired its OTT streaming rights.
