The release date of 7 Star Boys, starring leading Malayalam actor Antony Varghese, has been announced. The film will hit theatres across Tamil Nadu on September 4.
Directed by Nikhil Prem Raj, 7 Star Boys stars Antony Varghese along with former Indian football player I. M. Vijayan, popularly known as ‘Bigil’ I. M. Vijayan. Fayaz Siddiq handles the cinematography, while Jakes Bejoy has composed the music.
Set against the backdrop of football, the film was originally released in Malayalam under the title Aanaparambile World Cup and received a great response. Producer T. Ashok of Phoenix Studio has dubbed the film in Tamil and is releasing it in the state.
Speaking about the film, producer T. Ashok said:
“7 Star Boys is a football-based sports drama. The story revolves around children under the age of 12 who have an intense passion for playing football. During local football tournaments, they admire Antony Varghese, who plays with exceptional skill on the field and attracts everyone’s attention, considering him their role model.
Although these children are eager to play football, they struggle because they do not have a proper ground. After learning about their situation, Antony Varghese arranges a ground for them. He is amazed to see the children enthusiastically playing football and displaying impressive skills on the ground.
Believing that their talent could receive proper recognition if they had a good coach, Antony Varghese approaches I. M. Vijayan, a renowned football coach. The children then learn all the techniques of the game and begin participating in competitions.
Whether they win the trophy in the state-level competition or not forms the crux of the story. I expect 7 Star Boys to receive a response in Tamil Nadu similar to the tremendous reception Manjummel Boys received.”
