The film Antharan stars Prajin, Ivana Varun, Anupama Kumar, Adhiran Padman, “Aruvi” Bala, M.K. Sambasivam, Ramesh Babu, Arjun Dev, Priyanka Selvi, Aishwarya Kannan, VJ Raju, and many others.
The film’s cinematography is by Kishore Ramachandran, music is composed by Hari S.R., editing is handled by Ignatius Ashwin and Satheesh Krosawa, and art direction is by Sasi Kumar. This intense crime thriller is produced under Sri Krish Pictures by producer M.K. Sambasivam and directed by Santhosh Ravanan.
The film’s promotional event was held in Chennai ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on June 25. The event was attended by the cast and crew along with special guests including producer C.V. Kumar, actress Sandra, Bigg Boss Sabari, and VJ Vikrams.
During the event, VJ Vikram said he became friends with actor Prajin through Bigg Boss and wished that this film becomes a turning point in Prajin’s career. He also praised Prajin’s dedication and wished the film great success.
Actress Ivana Varun said this is her first film, making it very special. She thanked the team for their support during shooting and said she hopes audiences will enjoy the film. She also requested everyone to watch it in theatres on June 25.
Director Santhosh Ravanan shared that he initially sent the story via email to the producer, who liked it but couldn’t immediately take it up. Later, after six months and further discussions, the project was revived. He thanked the producer for keeping his promise and supporting the film.
He explained that the film’s title “Andharan” means “Hunter” — someone who attacks from hiding. The film is based on a real court case, though he cannot reveal details yet. He also mentioned that the climax will have a unique twist similar to films like Ratsasan, Thegidi, and Por Thozhil.
He added that although it is a thriller, the story has a romantic layer and that all cast and crew worked with full dedication.
Producer C.V. Kumar spoke about his long association with producer Sambasivam and praised the director’s talent. He also shared how the title “Andharan” was chosen and appreciated the final film after watching it, saying it is unpredictable and engaging till the end.
Producer M.K. Sambasivam thanked everyone involved and said this is his third film after Adavi and Manithargal. He emphasized that the film carries a meaningful social message presented as a crime thriller. He also requested support for new filmmakers and encouraged audiences and distributors not to ignore films without star actors.
Actor Prajin said he has been waiting for a breakthrough for over 20 years and believes this film will be that turning point. He thanked the team and said the film respects both audience money and time, and will be a quality experience in theatres.
The film releases worldwide in theatres on June 25, and the team has requested audience support.
