The success meet of Angikaram, which has received an encouraging response from both audiences and critics during its first week of release, was held with great enthusiasm. The cast and crew met members of the media to express their heartfelt gratitude for the appreciation and support extended to the film. They also shared several interesting insights into the making of the film, the audience’s response, and the reasons behind its success.
Actor Antony said:
“The dialogues in Angikaram are truly exceptional. Listening to them was a wonderful experience. Our hero has consistently chosen meaningful stories, and I am happy that he has acted in a sports-based film like this.
The film powerfully portrays the struggles and challenges faced by athletes from rural backgrounds. I strongly believe that everyone involved in sports should watch this film, as it will certainly inspire them.
Ghibran’s background score and songs have become one of the film’s biggest strengths. Action choreographer Peter Hein has brilliantly designed the sports and action sequences. I would also like to appreciate the cinematographer for his outstanding work.
My sincere thanks to all the artists and technicians who worked on this film. Angikaram is a film that no one should miss. I request everyone to watch it in theatres and continue supporting it. Thank you.”
Actress Isabella said:
“Angikaram has given me my very first identity as an actress. I have never spoken on a stage before, and I am truly happy to be addressing everyone for the first time through this event. I sincerely thank director Thenpathiyan and all the producers for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
The director placed immense faith in me and helped me earn recognition through this film. KJR sir made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the shoot. I am also grateful for giving my character the beautiful name ‘Thangamayil.’
I absolutely loved Ghibran sir’s music, and it was an honour to work with such a talented composer. Our cinematographer constantly encouraged me throughout the shoot. It was a wonderful experience working with Peter Hein master and the entire cast and technical team.
Finally, I would like to thank the editor and everyone else who contributed to presenting me so beautifully on screen. My heartfelt gratitude to the entire team.
Actress Vasundhara said:
“My heartfelt thanks to all the journalists and audiences who have continued to support Angikaram. This film is based on true events. Without adding unnecessary cinematic exaggerations, director Thenpathiyan has presented an important message in a realistic and life-like manner.
I am truly happy to have been a part of this film. KJR has worked incredibly hard for this role, and his transformation and dedication were truly inspiring. Working with Peter Hein Master was an unforgettable experience, and as always, Ghibran sir’s music has elevated the film beautifully.
The young producers—Arun, Prashanth, and Ajith—believed in this meaningful story and brought it to life. Only when films like Angikaram succeed will more meaningful cinema continue to be made. I request everyone to embrace this film and continue extending your support. Thank you.”
Music Director Ghibran said:
“The reviews and support given by the media for Angikaram mean a great deal to us, and I sincerely thank everyone for it.
Whether as a producer or an actor, KJR has consistently chosen stories that carry social responsibility. His next film, too, will speak about an important social issue.
Bringing genuine human emotions naturally into a story is one of the most difficult aspects of filmmaking, but director Thenpathiyan has accomplished it beautifully through every character. The writing is especially powerful.
For meaningful films like this to continue being made, your continued support is essential. I request everyone to keep supporting the film in its second week as well and help it reach an even wider audience. Thank you.”
Action Choreographer Peter Hein said:
“I was extremely happy with the appreciation and honest reviews that Angikaram received from the media.
From the very beginning, I had confidence in newcomer KJR. The amount of effort, physical transformation, and dedication he put into this film is extraordinary. He trained rigorously to convincingly portray an athlete on screen.
Behind this film lies the hard work of director Thenpathiyan, KJR, the producers, and the entire team. The film realistically captures the lives of athletes and the hardships they face, and I congratulate the director for portraying them so authentically.
We spent several months researching and preparing for this project. Everyone on the set worked with complete commitment. I was especially impressed by the dedication shown by the three producers. The cinematographer has also done an outstanding job.
Angikaram is an important film that everyone should watch. Thank you all.”
Cinematographer A. Viswanath said:
“Director Thenpathiyan always had a very clear visualisation of every scene even before the shoot. Because of that, he was determined to film certain sequences in the actual locations despite the challenges involved. It was that conviction which made the visuals turn out so beautifully.
When we began shooting the sports sequences, I was initially nervous about working with Peter Hein Master because he is a legend in the industry. However, from the very first day until the last, he was more of a mentor than just an action choreographer. He patiently explained every sequence in detail and guided us throughout the process. His contribution is one of the biggest reasons why the sports and action sequences have come out so effectively.
When I watched the film’s first preview screening, I became very emotional. I hugged the director and told him, ‘We have done it.’ Ghibran sir’s music has been a tremendous strength to the film. The positive reviews from journalists and media helped take the film to the audience and gave us immense encouragement.
The performances of the actors, along with the contributions of the colourist, editor, and every member of the technical team, have been vital to this success. Angikaram has given many of us our first major recognition, and I sincerely thank everyone who has supported us.”
Editor Dineshkumar said:
“First of all, I would like to thank all the journalists who supported Angikaram.
This is my second collaboration with the producers, and I am grateful to director Thenpathiyan for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to work on this film.
The collaboration with Ghibran, Peter Hein, Sampath Azhwar, A. Viswanath, and the entire technical team was truly wonderful. One of the film’s greatest strengths is that the sports sequences have been presented realistically, without unnecessary cinematic exaggeration, while remaining true to life.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone for their continued support.”
Director Thenpathiyan said:
“The support you have given this film has exceeded all our expectations. I sincerely thank all my friends in the media for standing by us.
I first narrated this story to KJR Studios. At that time, we had approached a leading star with the script, but the project did not materialise. I then moved on to another story. Later, I realised that no one other than us could truly do justice to this subject, so I decided to revive it.
That was when KJR said, ‘I will play the lead role in this film.’ From that moment, we restarted the project with him. He put in extraordinary effort for this role. My team and I worked tirelessly to ensure that our hero would be portrayed with complete authenticity and dignity, and I believe that effort is clearly reflected in the film. Your reviews have also acknowledged it.
We were fortunate to have an outstanding team of technicians. Ghibran sir delivered exceptional music. When Peter Hein Master first heard the story, he initially asked, ‘Is this for this hero?’ But after listening to the complete narration, he was thoroughly impressed and agreed to join the project. His involvement elevated the film to an entirely new level.
Every member of our technical team worked with complete dedication. Everything we had envisioned for this film has been realised on screen. We hope Angikaram continues its successful run in the coming weeks as well, and for that, we seek your continued support.
Producer Arul Murugan said:
“This is the first production from Swasthik Visions. Our hero KJR sir is here with us today. He believed in this project and dedicated two years of his life to it. Before becoming a producer, I began my career as his manager. Today, I am standing on this stage as a producer because of his trust and support. Thank you very much, sir.
Next, I would like to thank J.P. anna, our director. We have been travelling together on this journey from day one until today. It is a matter of great pride for us to have brought his writing and vision to the screen. We are delighted to have made such a meaningful film.
Our technical team—including Peter Hein Master, Ghibran anna, the cinematographer, and every technician—has put in tremendous effort. I request all of you to help take this film to the people. Thank you.”
Producer Ajith Bhaskar said:
“First, I would like to thank our director, Thenpathiyan (J.P.). He is the primary reason behind this film. He conducted extensive research for the story, travelled to several places to understand the life of an athlete, and invested immense effort in making this film authentic.
Likewise, our producer and elder brother, KJR, extended his complete support to this project. Making a film like this required enormous time, dedication, and commitment. Everyone on the shooting spot worked with great sincerity, and the entire technical team stood firmly behind the project.
The continued support from audiences has been a huge source of encouragement for all of us. I request everyone to keep supporting Angikaram. Thank you.”
Producer and Actor KJR said:
“First of all, I am extremely happy that audiences have bought tickets and come to theatres to watch our film. The credit for this goes not only to the journalists but also to YouTube channels, online media platforms, and everyone who has supported Angikaram. As an actor, this response gives me not just 100 percent happiness, but 1,000 percent satisfaction. I feel proud to stand here today as an actor.
This may not be a massive blockbuster, but it has become a respectable success. Some theatre owners whom I know even told me that perhaps another story or another hero would have worked better. But today, people have begun embracing the film. The entire credit for that goes to director Thenpathiyan. I simply followed his vision. Every member of the technical team has worked brilliantly. Their future depends on the success of this film, so I sincerely request all of you to continue supporting it.
Within the next ten years, I am determined to establish myself as one of the leading actors in Tamil cinema. I will also ensure that these producers succeed. I will never give up. Every technician who worked on this film did so with complete dedication, never thinking about money or personal gain. My heartfelt thanks to Peter Hein Master, Ghibran, and everyone who stood by me. Please continue to support Angikaram. Thank you.”
