The pan-Indian film “Nagabandham,” a grand cinematic spectacle blending mythology, mystery, and action, is directed by Abhishek Nama and stars Virat Karna in the lead. The film has been mounted on a massive scale with cutting-edge technology and visuals unlike anything seen before in Indian cinema.
Ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on July 3, the film’s press meet was held in Chennai today in the presence of the cast, crew, and members of the media.
The team spoke about the journey of making the film, its grand production values, the uniqueness of its mythological world, and the theatrical experience awaiting audiences.

“When I watched the visuals of Nagabandham, I witnessed an extraordinary cinematic spectacle. Every frame reflects the team’s hard work and quality. My heartfelt greetings to the media friends, film fraternity, and everyone present here.
Producer Abhishek Nama has made this film with great dedication. I have shared a long friendship with him, and it is because of that affection that I set aside my own commitments to attend this event.
I would like to share a small incident. Many years ago, while releasing my film Amudhavalli, we published an advertisement featuring only a cobra, a child, and the line, ‘Is the snake coming to caress the child or to bite it?’ That single advertisement created huge curiosity among audiences, and the film became a major success.
Snakes have always fascinated people and hold deep spiritual significance. Many films centered around snakes have been successful, from stories of serpent maidens and snake deities to several other works. Likewise, I strongly believe Nagabandham will also become a huge success. My heartfelt wishes to the entire team.”

“As technology evolves, cinema continues to move into new dimensions. With the rise of digital media, theatre attendance has reduced. However, some films can only be fully experienced on the big screen, and Nagabandham is certainly one of them.

The moment I heard the title Nagabandham, I was reminded of the mysterious sealed chambers of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, especially the famous unopened ‘Nagabandham’ chamber. That mystery itself creates curiosity about the film.
