Trending Entertainment and White Horse Studios, under the production of K. Sasikumar, present the crime thriller “Moondram Kan”, directed by debut filmmaker Sako Ganesan and starring Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Trigun, and Santhosh Prathap. The film is made in a hyperlink anthology format.
As the film is set to release on June 12, a press meet was recently held at Prasad Lab, Chennai, where the cast and crew shared various details about the movie.
Producer K. Sasikumar said:
“Greetings to everyone. I sincerely thank all the media and press friends who have attended this event. The support you gave my previous project was very encouraging and gave me the confidence to undertake new ventures. I thank you all once again for that support.
I really liked the story of Moondram Kan. As soon as I heard it, I felt it must be made into a film. Everyone involved worked with great dedication. The shooting crew, in particular, worked efficiently and cooperatively. Director Sako Ganesan completed the film within the planned schedule, and I sincerely thank him. I also thank the writers and creative team members Su. Geetha, Satheesh, Surya, Dinesh, and everyone else involved.
My thanks to music artist Ajeesh, who created the song for the film, and to everyone who contributed to it. Though there is only one song in the film, it has turned out very well. Everyone worked tirelessly on it.
Music director Raj Prathap was completely dedicated to this film. He is always thinking about music, and his work has become a major strength of the movie. I believe he has a bright future ahead. I would also like to thank Ramar for his support throughout the project. He worked wholeheartedly for the team. My heartfelt thanks to all the actors, technicians, crew members, and media friends who contributed to Moondram Kan. I request your continued support for the film.”
Choreographer Radhika Master said:
“I have known director Sako Ganesan for a long time. Even when he worked as an assistant director, I admired his hard work. This film is the result of that dedication.
It is difficult for a debut director to secure dates from leading actors, but talented performers like Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Santhosh Prathap, and Trigun joining the film reflects the strength of the story.
Producer Sasikumar provided everything needed for the film without hesitation and gave complete support. Vidharth always chooses good stories. Kalaiyarasan, Santhosh Prathap, and Trigun have also performed with great commitment. Heroines Teju and Athulya were highly professional and contributed significantly even under difficult circumstances.
Cinematographer Udhay, art director Michael, the music composer, and other technicians have done excellent work. I believe Moondram Kan will receive a great response from audiences and become a major success.”
Art Director Michael said:
“Working on Moondram Kan was a wonderful experience. Director Sako Ganesan has crafted the story in a unique and clear manner. The moment I heard the story, I felt it would become a remarkable film. Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Trigun, Santhosh Prathap, and the rest of the cast fully trusted the director’s vision and offered excellent cooperation. Producer Sasikumar provided all necessary support.
This film is very close to my heart. I believe the combined efforts of everyone involved will help Moondram Kan receive a warm reception and become successful.”
Editor Ramar said:
“Moondram Kan is a very important film for me. I heard this story nearly two years ago and was immediately drawn to it. Later, director Sako Ganesan invited me to join the project.
The screenplay is very different and will keep audiences engaged until the end. Although we had very little time for editing, the entire team worked hard to complete the job successfully.
The director’s dedication and confidence in the story impressed me. Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Trigun, and Santhosh Prathap have done complete justice to their roles. Their performances will be one of the film’s biggest strengths.
Producer Sasikumar was determined to release the film properly and on time. His patience and trust are admirable. Moondram Kan contains many surprises and unique elements that audiences will discover after its release.”
Music Director Raj Prathap said:
“Working on Moondram Kan was a special experience. Though I have worked on many commercial films, I always wanted to compose music for a strong screenplay-driven suspense thriller, and this film gave me that opportunity.
After meeting director Sako Ganesan and producer Sasikumar, I joined the project. By then, the film had already reached the editing stage. The trailer itself impressed me with its making, visuals, and screenplay.
The film’s greatest strengths are its screenplay and characters. Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Trigun, and Santhosh Prathap all believed in the story and joined the project.
My challenge as a composer was to support the suspense without revealing it. Thanks to the director’s clear vision, that became easier. We gave special importance to sound design and background score, using many live instruments.”
Actress Athulya Chandra said:
“Moondram Kan is my third Tamil film. I loved the title itself and am happy to be part of it. Every film teaches something new, and this project gave me the opportunity to work with talented actors such as Vidharth, Santhosh Prathap, Teju, and Kalaiyarasan. I thank producer Sasikumar and the entire team for this opportunity.”
Actress Teju Ashwini said:
“Moondram Kan is a very special film for me. We acted in it two years ago, and it remains close to my heart. I loved both the story and my character.
Working with Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Santhosh Prathap, and Trigun was a wonderful experience. Everyone on set was friendly and supportive. This is one of the most unique stories I have acted in. I hope audiences watch and support the film in theaters on June 12.”
Actor KPY Sarath said:
“I thank producer Sasikumar and director Sako Ganesan for giving me this opportunity. Instead of my usual comedy role, they gave me a completely different character, which was a new experience. I enjoyed working with Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Santhosh Prathap, and Trigun. I believe audiences will enjoy the film.”
Actor Santhosh Prathap said:
“Working on Moondram Kan was a beautiful experience. The team became like a family, and those friendships continue even today.
I play a role unlike anything I have done before. The film breaks stereotypes and explores the dark side present within every individual. Its ending will leave audiences thinking.”
Actor Trigun said:
“Cinema is a collective effort, and I thank director Sako Ganesan and producer Sasikumar for creating such a collaborative atmosphere.
During filming, I experienced a family tragedy, and the team adjusted schedules to support me. I will always be grateful for that. The screenplay was so powerful that I immediately agreed to be part of the project after hearing it.”
Director Sako Ganesan said:
“Moondram Kan is a unique commercial thriller. We have used the storytelling technique known as the Rashomon Effect, which presents events from multiple perspectives.
The moment I narrated the story to producer Sasikumar, he trusted me despite me being a debut director and agreed to produce it.
All the actors exceeded my expectations. Kalaiyarasan’s role was especially challenging, and he handled it brilliantly through his body language, voice, and performance. Santhosh Prathap was the perfect choice for his role, while Trigun agreed to act after hearing the story.
Every actor trusted the story immediately. Teju prepared thoroughly for every scene and performed with great precision. Athulya was selected through an audition video and completely justified our confidence in her.
John Vijay plays an important role and contributed wholeheartedly, including dubbing. Sarath has also delivered an excellent performance in a role very different from his usual comic characters.
All the technicians, assistant directors, and crew members have worked exceptionally hard. Moondram Kan releases on June 12. It is a suspense thriller with a unique screenplay, and I request everyone to watch and support it in theaters.”
Actor Kalaiyarasan said:
“Working on Moondram Kan was an unforgettable experience. The team functioned like a family, and the bond remains strong even today.
I play a role unlike any I have done before. The film is not just a suspense thriller but also explores the darker side of human nature. It contains elements that will make audiences think long after watching it.”
Actor Vidharth said:
“This was a special experience because my character has very few dialogues. Conveying emotions without words is challenging, but director Sako Ganesan’s guidance helped me.
I have known him for many years and had promised to act in any film he directed. This project allowed me to fulfill that promise.
I also came to know producer Sasikumar closely through this film. It is rare to see a producer who pays actors before the film is completed and genuinely cares for everyone involved. He is a very honest and humane producer.
The trailer itself suggests that the film will offer a unique experience. The music is excellent, and I believe audiences will enjoy the film.”
The screenplay of Moondram Kan is built around four interconnected stories linked through Chaos Theory, where a small event can lead to major consequences. Combined with the Rashomon Effect, the film unfolds as a murder mystery crime thriller.
The film features Vidharth, Kalaiyarasan, Trigun, Santhosh Prathap, John Vijay, Teju Ashwini, Athulya Chandra, Swetha Dorathy, and Radha in important roles, along with several other notable actors.
Directed by debut filmmaker Sako Ganesan, the film’s cinematography is by N. S. Udhayakumar, editing by V. Ramar, songs composed by Ajeesh, and art direction by Michael. The film is produced by Trending Entertainment and White Horse Studios.
