Directed by Abhilash Reddy and starring Sharwanand, Dr. Rajasekhar, and Malavika Nair, the film Biker has been made as India’s first bike sports film. Produced by UV Creations, presented by Vikram Reddy, and produced by Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati.
Music is composed by Ghibran, cinematography by J. Yuvaraj, editing by Anil Pasala, and art direction by A. Panneer Selvam. Dialogues and screenplay are written by M.V.S. Bharadwaj and Shravan Madala, while stunt choreography is handled by Dilip Subbarayan. Sound design is by Sync Cinema, and public relations by Yuvaraj.
The film is releasing worldwide on April 3 as a pan-Indian movie in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and other languages. The Tamil version’s promotional event was held yesterday evening at Sathyam Theatre in Chennai, where the cast and crew shared interesting details about the film.
Motorcycle trainer Roshini said:
“Though this was a new experience for me, I felt very connected to it. Since I train women in motorcycling, I could easily understand the world of this film. As Biker is based on real incidents, it feels even more special. I believe this film will inspire youngsters and bike racing enthusiasts. This is an important attempt in Indian cinema to focus on motorcycle racing. It’s clear that the director’s intention is to make more people aware of this sport. Dr. Rajasekhar’s performance reminded me of a strict yet loving father. Sharwanand has completely dedicated himself and transformed into a real racer.”
Production designer Rajeevan said:
“Though the art direction may not be very visible on screen, a lot of effort and detailing went into it. Usually, racing scenes are shot abroad, but creating races for this film was a big challenge. Since the story spans two time periods, we carefully selected bikes and props accordingly. We worked hard to ensure authenticity for each era. Old tracks were modified to create realistic race environments. Many elements were sourced from countries like Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. Our aim was to give audiences a real racing experience, not just sets but a complete world.”
Cinematographer Mathi said:
“Working with this team felt like working with family. Though I had worked with some members before, this film was a unique experience. Shooting race sequences was very challenging, but we gave our best. The one-month race shoot was a huge experience and unforgettable in my career. The team’s dedication made this film special.”
Music composer Ghibran said:
“I thank Vamsi sir for giving me this opportunity. He introduced me to Abhilash, and from our first meeting, I had a good feeling. When I heard the story, I felt excited. I love fast-paced and deep stories like this. It was great working again with Sharwanand. Since the story is set between the 1990s and 2000s in Tamil Nadu, I could relate to it. Sound design played a crucial role in capturing the uniqueness of bike racing sounds. I believe this film will be appreciated internationally as well. Everyone has performed brilliantly. Actor Nirup said:
“When I was approached for this film, I had acted in only two films. Getting such a big role was a happy experience. I got this opportunity through an audition. I don’t want to reveal much about my character as it should remain a surprise. This film gave me not just an opportunity but also good friendships. Working with Sharwanand was wonderful. Rajasekhar sir is a great human being, and I learned a lot from him. Malavika has also performed very well. The visuals by Yuvaraj are beautiful. This film must be experienced in theatres. “I’m still finding it difficult to walk; Sharwanand helped me onto the stage. Three months ago, I fractured my leg, and I’m still recovering. I’ve had similar injuries before during stunt sequences. Once, I was hospitalized at Apollo after a serious accident. Even then, I couldn’t stay back because my film was releasing, and I came directly to Sathyam Theatre. People said that injury was a good sign and the film would be a hit. Now again, I’ve come here with an injury, so I believe this film will also be a big success. I request everyone to support it in theatres on April 3.”
Actor Sharwanand said:
“I’m happy to be back in Chennai after a long gap. From Engaeyum Eppothum to Kanam, I’ve always shared a close bond with Tamil audiences. I have great love and respect for Tamil cinema and people. Similarly, Biker holds a very important place in my career. I can proudly say this is the best film of my career. This is India’s first motocross film.
