Lakshmi Movie Makers, the banner that has delivered several hit films like Anbe Sivam, Pudhupettai, Gokulathil Seethai, and Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen, had remained inactive in film production following the demise of its founders K. Muralidharan and Swaminathan
Now, reviving the banner, K. Muralidharan’s sons M. Gokul Krishnan and Dr. Sri Vathsan have restarted production. As the 27th venture of Lakshmi Movie Makers, they have produced “4 Idiots”, directed by debutant Sajo Sundar Murugesan.
Director Sajo Sundar Murugesan previously worked as an associate director with filmmaker Hari, actor-director Prakash Raj, and director Bhaskar (Bommarillu Bhaskar).
The film stars Pugazh, popular for his comedy performances on Vijay TV, as the hero. Ravi Maria, known for his comic villain roles, plays the antagonist, while Mumbai-based Pragya Nayan appears as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Vincent Asokan, Ashwin (Kumki Ashwin), Thidiyan, Indran, Bava Lakshmanan, Mahanadhi Shankar, C.M. Bala, and Vijay Yogan, among others, who have delivered notable character performances.
Made in the black comedy genre, the film has co-producers V.K. Murugesan (from Tiruppur) and G.N.N. Selvaraj associated with the project.
