Kaali Venkat, Gunanidhi in Alangu Movie Stills

A man from a hill tribe community in Tamil Nadu, Gunanidhi, keeps a dog named Kali. He travels with the dog wherever he goes, and even when he goes to Kerala with his brothers and relatives for work, he takes Kali with him. Following a small incident that happens unexpectedly, Kali’s dog is in danger. Gunanidhi cuts off the hand of one of the people trying to save Kali from it.

Gunanidhi, who is trying to escape from Gunanidhi and his group, who are trying to kill the man who lost his hand, takes a journey through the forest. Did that journey help them escape? Or did it put them in another danger? That is the story of the film ‘Alangu’.

Gunanidhi, who plays the role of Dharma, a hill tribe, has exploded with a vibrant performance. He is an action-packed character who sees all living things together and loves them even when his dog is in danger. Gunanidhi has worked hard for the character, whether it is acting, fighting scenes, or traveling in the forest.

Kali Venkat, who plays the role of a Malayan, has done both comedy and characterisation with her realistic performance as usual.

Semban Vinoth, who plays the Kerala boss, is a bit over the top in his ferocity towards dogs to express his affection for his daughter.

Sarath Appani, who chases the hero with a murderous streak after losing his hand, intimidates him with an aggressive performance.

Srirekha, who plays the hero’s mother, attracts attention not only with her unique appearance but also with her acting.

Soundararaja, Shanmugam Muthusamy, Regina Rose, Idhayakumar, Master Ajay, Kodravai, Angel, Manjunath and others who have played other roles make an appearance to add strength to the flow of the screenplay.

Cinematographer Pandi Kumar, who has beautifully depicted the beauty and dangers of the dense forest, has neatly conveyed the emotions of the people playing the hill tribes and their feelings to the audience.

The songs and background music in Ajeesh’s music reflect the storyline.

San Lokesh’s editing keeps the film moving at a brisk and fast pace.

Written and directed by S.P. Sakthivel, the dog named Kali and its activities have been filmed very realistically, and the dangerous journey on the forest path has been designed as adventure scenes to keep the audience on the edge of their seats, and the life of the hill tribes has been used in the story to the right extent.

Although it is a commercial action film that tells the story of the hero’s struggle journey trying to escape from the villain against the backdrop of a dense forest, the screenplay that director S.P. Sakthivel has written is new, with a dog as the central figure. Although the dog is the main character of the film, the lack of scenes for it is a little disappointing.

Although it is an action film, director Sakthivel, who has tried to attract children by using not only the pet dog but also wild animals like elephants and foxes in the scenes, has worked 100 percent to do justice to the story he has taken.
