Gorgeous beauty Anjali’s ‘Geethanjali’ was one of the big hits among small budget films way back in 2014. The film was not only became a box-office success but also acted as a trendsetter for more films in the genre. Now the sequel titled “Geethanjali Malli Vachindi” produced by Kona Venkat under Kona films Corporation in association with MVV Cinemas is coming. Heroine Anjali will be playing the lead role, and it’s a milestone 50th film in her career.
The makers are producing ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’ as a huge budget movie in the horror comedy genre. The sequel will start from where the movie ‘Geethanjali’ ended. The film will be released Pan India wide in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages in early 2024. Along with Anjali, Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh, Shakalaka Shankar, Satya, Sunil, Ravi Shankar, Srikanth Iyyengar are playing the lead roles in this sequel.

I was introduced to Siva Turlapati, when he was doing short films. I have been traveling with him since then. By the time Geethanjali was made, I had worked in 45 films. Geethanjali is a movie that made me want to do something new during the flow of commercial movies. Srinivas Reddy brought Raj Kiran to me. I changed the story which was a horror movie into a comedy horror. Balupu movie released at that time. I worked for that film. We approached Anjali for the film as we liked her performance in Balupu where she played a key role. That’s how the movie took off. Geethanjali movie became a trend setter. Another reason for making Geethanjali movie is MVV Satya narayanagaru. Anjali, Srinivas Reddy and Rajesh all loved the movie Geethanjali. Sujatha Siddharth has a huge advantage when it comes to the sequel ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi.” Also Pravin Lakkaraju’s music has become an asset. This sequel took ten years to come. I thought Geethanjali sequel would be made in America. But due to technical and practical aspects, we changed the film to Ooty. Satya, Sunil, Ravi Krishna, Rahul Madhav and Ali are the huge assets for the movie. It will impreess the audience beyond thier expectations. Bhanu Kiran and Nandu have written excellent dialogues. Everyone enjoyed the making and we are hoping that it will be big break for our director Shiva. He will be a fantastic addition to Tollywood. We are planning to release the teaser for Sankranti.”
Anjali said, “Geethanjali”‘ is the first heroine oriented movie in my career. It was a big hit. With the same confidence, we made the movie ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’. We have been wanting to make a sequel for a long time. I saw the film and I loved it. The whole is on a different level and especially the climax is on whole another level. It has rich visuals, ensemble star cast and we made the film with utmost care. Ali, Sunil and Satya all will make you laugh. This movie will be a big break for director Siva Turlapati garu. Cinematographer Sujatha Siddharth’s visuals are excellent. Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar and Rajesh acted as my costars in Part 1. They make you laugh in the sequel too. Srinu garu has created a great sets for the movie, Pravin Lakkaraju garu has provided excellent music, and Chota garu, the editor, have done a wonderful job. Geethanjali looks cute but what she does is scary. You have to see her in theaters. Kona Venkat made the movie Geethanjali as a franchise and I wish it’s going to be a big success.
