The teaser of King Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga is here and it promises to be a perfect festive viewing coming with all the trappings one associates with a festival film from action, drama to some groovy music.
Running over one minute and 46 seconds, the teaser begins with a conversation between Ashika Ranganath and Allari Naresh with the former wanting to know what the latter’s friend (played by Nagarjuna) is up to. “Yesterday itself, he beat 20 people badly at a mango farm,” Naresh tells her. Nag later gets a stylish introduction as he takes on a raft of bad men, pinning them down with effortless ease and swag of his own, while Keeravani’s riveting music adds a layer of machismo to him. “Is he thinking of himself as a youngster? Ask him to slow down,” tells Ashika to Naresh. Turns out Ashika and Nag share a history but they are no longer on talking terms; they just communicate with their eyes. “Just to see once, do they have to wait an entire day?” laments Raj Tarun about Nag’s relationship. While the teaser doesn’t delve into too much of Nag’s friendship with Naresh and Raj Tarun, its importance, however, can be felt from a mile. The director doesn’t drop much in terms of the plot, waiting to reveal his cards in the trailer.
Overall, the teaser is properly packaged with drama, humour, action in equal measure while Nag seems to be in his element, carrying forward his mass role with a lot of élan, with Naresh’s energetic act giving him company. Ashika’s lingo has a certain chutzpah about it, while Raj Tarun seems to be playing an innocent role going by his looks.
Directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Vijay Binni and produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi of Srinivasaa Silver Screen, Naa Saami Ranga vrooms into cinemas this Sankranti. It’s right now in the last leg of its production.
