Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, who works as a sub-inspector in the Maruti Nagar police station, along with her friends Santosh Pratap, Yasser and Vivek Rajagopal plans to kill the Maruti Nagar police inspector. But Varalakshmi Sarathkumar waits for a sudden disruption in his plan to overcome it and fulfill his plan. According to his plan, the inspector of the police station is killed and the famous rowdy who came to meet him is also killed. Even if the murder goes according to plan, who did it? To Varalakshmi’s confusion, on the other side, the high police officer Aarav investigates the double murder case at the police station.
Is the accused caught in Aura’s investigation? Why did Varalakshmi and her friends plan to kill the researcher? The answer to these questions is the rest of the story of Maruti Nagar Police Station.
Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, who is playing a character rather than the heroine of the story, has done her job flawlessly but the monotony is boring. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar has already played the role of a cop in several films and although she fits the role perfectly, she lacks the strength for the role in this film. The heroine of the story has been imposed on someone who comes and goes as a character.
Aarav is the hero of the film. But he comes only during the break. However, his on-screen expressions and the way he handled the character gave the film tremendous strength in all aspects. Aarav, who looks majestic in the police outfit, has done justice to the character by displaying majesty in acting. If he chooses good stories and acts, surely Aarau has the qualifications to occupy a permanent place as an action hero in Tamil cinema.
Santhosh Pratap, who played a strong role in films like ‘Charbata Paramparai’, the director thanked him a thousand crores for playing such a role, but not ten.
Subramania Siva, Vivek Rajagopalan, Yasser, Amit Bhargav who played the role of the villain in the film have done their job well.
Shekhar Chandra’s cinematography has traveled according to the story.
Music director Manikant Khatri has traveled with the songs and background score in the music, adding strength to the visuals.
Dayal Padmanabhan, who is a popular director in Kannada cinema, has directed his second Tamil film in the crime suspense thriller genre after ‘Konnaal Bhavam’.
The writing of director Dayal Padamanabhan, who has scripted a crime suspense thriller genre with a simple concept, must be appreciated. But he has suffered a major slippage in framing it as a scene for cinema.
Dayal Padmanabhan has directed the film as if he is staging a stage play without even thinking about how not only the police station but the entire city will be thrown into a frenzy after an inspector and a famous rowdy is shot dead in a police station and the scenes that will take place after that will be at the peak of excitement. He has proved that he is a producer throughout the film.
Overall, ‘Maruti Nagar Police Station’ is a suspense thriller without suspense.
