There are some dead bodies lying around in certain areas where there are railway tracks. As no one has claimed the bodies, the police who treat them as orphaned corpses and bury them take it for granted and leave it uninvestigated. Sensing that something criminal is going on behind these bodies, Santhanam, the detective, starts his detective work. Then the people who go in search of Santhanam are killed one by one and many mysterious incidents happen around him. Can Santhanam untangle the mysterious knots and discover the crimes behind the corpses? Isn’t it? That is ‘Agent Kannairam’.

Santhanam, who plays the lead role and is full of comedy, gets hit hard whenever he changes his roots.Even though he got such a blow in this film, he has acted in such a way that it is appreciated that he has tried something different in the film. Although his performance may not be acceptable to those who want to see conventional Santhanam, he has given satisfactory performances to those who are ready to see him in a new light.Even though he plays a serious role without comedy, he manages to laugh out loud at some points with his usual timing mimicking satirical lines.

Rhea Suman, who plays the female lead, fits the role of a TV reporter. He initially interviews Santhanam and later joins the detective work as Santhanam’s assistant. At one point his role created huge expectations but in the end it came down to nothing, which was a huge disappointment.

Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Prema, E. Ramadoss, Guru Somasundaram, Adira, Indumati and other actors and actresses in the film seem to have done their job well, but they have not been used properly.

Cinematographers Theni Easwar and Saravanan Ramasamy have shot the scenes in a different way.The location of the story and the way the characters are shot are all completely different from other films which makes it enjoyable.

Music Yuvan Shankar Raja is put on the title card. However, Yuvan is nowhere to be seen as the songs and background music featured in the film.
Manoj Peetha, who has adapted the screenplay and directed the Telugu hit ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’, can we show him as a comedy as Santhanam Hero? Or make it look different and more serious? That confusion is evident in many scenes.

The story revolves around a detective who solves a major crime, and the scenes tend to move fast and furiously.
But the biggest weakness of the film is that director Manoj Peetha moves it very slowly and does not elaborate on some of the characters. Who is Maran, the character that Santhanam is specifically looking for? It is not mentioned anywhere, it does not keep us together with the story.

Although Santhanam narrates all the twists and turns for his part, the ensuing scenes lack any attraction and our focus is on the popcorn. Especially the doctor who is shown as the villain in the climax and the fact that he does not emphasize the things he says about the crime is the biggest minus of the film.

The director Manoj Peetha, who has handled a little difference in the making, would have attracted a lot of attention if he had used that difference in the screenplay and visual structure to tell the story clearly.

All in all, ” is something.
