Kantara Movie Review

The successors of the present day kings are trying to take over the 100 acres of land that was donated to the villagers during the king’s reign. On the other hand, the forest department also enters the field to take away the land from the people. People struggle to protect their land by fighting against both sides. The story of kantara is about how their faith in God gets involved in this struggle, and what happens after that.

Many films have talked about people fighting for land and their life. Even though it is a film with such a story, the screenplay that incorporates the deity, faith in the deity and the visionary scenes of the deity has made the film new.

Rishabh Shetty has written and directed the story and also acted as the hero. Although born in a Samiyatum family, he goes around drinking, playing with friends, buffalo competition and hunting as a nobody. The first person to oppose the government when their place is in trouble, Sami shakes the entire theater with his dance scene. In fact, he expresses a variety of emotions in every movement that makes you think that Sami has entered his body!

The scenes where Saptami Gowda, who is playing the heroine, is unable to fight for the people of the village and unable to act as a forest guard are good. Even though she is the heroine, her character has been designed in such a way that fans will remember her as one of the hill dwellers.

Kishore, who plays the role of a forest officer, has got a good role after a long time. Manushan has added strength to the role with his performance.

Achuyuth Kumar, who plays the heir of the king, despite his calm demeanor, the aggression in his heart is shocking. An unexpected turn of events is the villainy he does while quietly smiling without any profanity or sarcasm.

All the characters who play the hero’s friends and the villagers are suitable for the character and the faces fit the soil.

Cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap’s camera also takes the viewers to the forests of Karnataka. Captivating the beauty of the jungles exquisitely, Sammy thrills us during the game.

Music composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, the songs are listenable. The background score is a huge strength of the film and brings life to the scenes. The background music is menacing, especially in the scenes where Sammy dances.Especially in the final scene, the sound that Sami makes after getting into the body of the hero who takes Vishwarup, and the sound that follows it, continues to ring in our ears even after leaving the theater.

Cinematographers KM Prakash and Pratish Shetty have compiled the scenes without hesitation. From the beginning to the end of the film, the film has been composed so well that the fans will become one with the film.

Director Rishabh Shetty, who has written the screenplay with the social concern of forest protection, with the people living in the forests in the state of Karnataka and their culture, God’s path, has given it very elegantly as a commercial film.

Director Rishabh Shetty, who has implicitly criticized capitalism for exploiting workers, has emphasized on the worship of deity and people’s faith in it rather than stressing social problems. Especially the people living in the forest area could not accept the fact that the film spoke as if there was a danger to the wildlife and the government and officials spoke as if God was saving the forest and the wildlife.

Although some of the things discussed in the film are contradictory, the film amazes people technically and in terms of how to tell a story.

All in all, ‘kantara’ is sure to impress everyone as a movie.
