Telugu film industry, which has gone into a huddle to discuss various issues plaguing the industry, has given consent to resume shootings from September 1. At a presser in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Dil Raju, who is leading the back-to-back meetings from the past 23 days, has indicated that they’ve achieved progress. “During the first round of the meeting, we discussed our issues and how to address them. In the second round, we met everyone and placed our problems on the table, taking them along. Right now, we are in the third round, which concludes on August 30. We will let everyone know about what we’ve achieved and the blueprint we have on August 30,” Raju said.

He pointed out that producers can resume shootings from September 1. As far as producers who are looking at Dasara and Sankranti to release their flicks, Raju mentioned that they can approach the Chamber/Producer’s Council to seek approval to commence production from August 25th itself.

Coming to issues like VPF, Cube and UFO, Raju noted the issue has been going on for long and now they’ve reached an end. “We have 1,800 screens in both the Telugu states. Out of which SVC and UV has 50, while GA has around 30-40 screens. NV Prasad is leading the charge in Ceded. From September 2, we’ve decided not to levy any charge on distributors and producers in a bid to lessen their burden. I hope other theatres will follow suit,” he observed.

On the issue of ticket price, Raju stated that there will be an increase in fare when it comes to big films keeping in mind their budgets. “There will be two slabs coming to prices and we discussed it with producers, exhibitors and distributors and came to a conclusion,” he said.
