Filmmaker Suseenthiran has been showcasing an unconditional affinity towards sports through movies. His movies like ‘Vennila Kabadi Kulu’ and ‘Jeeva’ exhibited the realistic shades of games like Kabbadi and Cricket. The filmmaker completes his trilogy of sports with ‘Champion’, which becomes the third one in this league. The film is based on game of football, which commences with shooting.
Actor Producer GK Reddy switched on the camera for the first shot of this film during the auspicious occasion. The entire cast and crew was present for the occasion. The film marks the debut of Roshan as an actor in lead role and so for Mrinalini who plays the female protagonist. Others in the cast includes GK Reddy, Anjathey fame Naren, Jayaprakash, RK Suresh, Harish Uthaman and few more prominent actors.
Arrol Corelli is composing music for this film and Sujith Sarang is handling cinematography. Indian Football Champion Raman Vijayan will be associated with the film in coordinating the realistic approach to game for this film.
The film is produced by K Raghavi under the banner Kalanjiam Cine Arts. The makers of ‘Champion’ are planning to release the film in December 2018.
