JANA – TRANSFORMING INTO AN ACTOR FROM AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR THROUGH JOURNEY OF ‘SEMA’

There are times, when a film’s title isn’t just a name, but has its vibrations set vividly spread among the entire team. It is obvious that the actors and technicians have shared enthusiastic joy while sharing their experience working in this GV Prakash-Arthana starrer movie. But here is someone, who actually believes that the word ‘Sema’ has been so much synonymous with his experience too. Working as an assistant to Pandiraj in Pasanga 2, Jana is now wearing greasepaint for the first time through this film. He says, “Director Vallikanth Anna and I got acquainted while working for Pasanga Productions. He was co-director for the film while I was assistant director. He has always inspired me with his hard-working skills. I was promised that he would offer me a role when he directs a film. As he affirmed, I got an opportunity to work in Sema.”

“The film is a perfect family entertainer that will be enjoyed by everyone. Just as the title, it will be a jolly type movie and we had the same experience while shooting for it,” adds Jana.

To appear before the camera for first time, especially with a promising bunch of actors should have been a self-pressuring situation. “Initially, I felt really nervous as I had combination scenes with Kovai Sarala madam and Mansoor Ali Khan sir. But they were down to earth and treated me as their own family member. Their support made me perform with easiness,” tots up the actor, who claims that GV Prakash has done a great work into his lively character and Yogi Babu has rendered ‘Vera Level’ humour in this film.

Cinematographer Vivek Anand’s visuals have always captured our attention in visual promos. Getting to shed some lights upon his nature, Jana says, “My filmmaker told me that Vivek Anand is associate cameraman to P.C. Sriram sir. I assumed that he would be quite reserved, formal and strict one. But he rubbished my self-imposed myths breaking the ice with his friendly nature. In contrast, he was a fun loving and humorous person on the sets, but at the same time, delivered a brilliant output with visuals.”

Semma is produced by Pasanga Productions & Lingabhairavi Creations P.Ravichandran and is scheduled for worldwide release on May 25.
