Malayalam Megastar Mammootty and Actress Anjali starring Peranbu movie first look was released on 1 January 2016. Peranbu film is written & directed by Ram and produced by PL Thenappan. Music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Director Ram began negotiations with Mammootty to star in his film during early 2015 and the pair agreed to work together by February 2015. Anjali was signed on to appear in the film, reportedly appearing in the role of a transgender prostitute. The start of the project was delayed until late 2015, as a result of Ram’s commitments with Taramani and acting assignment, Savarakathi. Sadhana, the child artiste from Ram’s Thanga Meengal (2013), was also cast in the film.
