Meesaya Murukku was a biopic based on my life. But Meesaya Murukku 2 has a much broader storyline. It is a global story about music, musicians and their lives. The film talks about the dreams, struggles, journeys and emotions of people who choose music as their path in life.
One of the major highlights of Meesaya Murukku 2 is the world of gaana artists and their lives. The film captures the lives of artists who express their experiences and struggles through songs. In particular, gaana artists turn their struggles, life experiences and journeys into songs and make a living through their art. No one can ever replace the late Vivek sir, who played my father in the first part. However, Meesaya Murukku 2 is a story that travels through three different time periods. There is a very important father character in the film. I felt that Baba Bhaskar Master was the right choice for this role. Initially, he was slightly hesitant about accepting the character. But he trusted me and took up the role. He has performed extremely well. I genuinely believe that after this film, he will earn an important place as an actor in Tamil cinema.”
Kettika Sharma plays the female lead in Meesaya Murukku 2. She portrays a character named Laila Singh, a dancer who comes to Chennai from Punjab.
