Kingston Movie Review

Although the people of the coastal village in Thoothukudi district rely on fishing, they are unable to go to the sea to fish. The reason is that the spirit of a greedy person possesses the sea and kills those who come there. Due to this, the people of that village have been struggling for more than 40 years without a livelihood and are doing whatever work they can. Some of the youths are involved in the smuggling business. One of these youths, the hero GV Prakash, although initially involved in the smuggling business, comes to know its true background and decides to quit it and restore the lost livelihood of his villagers.

Accordingly, ‘Kingston’ is an attempt to tell in a fantasy way whether the man who wanted to go into the mysterious sea and solve the problem, went into the sea with his friends, did he return alive? Or did he return dead as the village believes?

G.V. Prakash Kumar, who plays the role of a young man from a fishing village, has acted as usual without any change in both appearance and acting. G.V. Prakash Kumar, who has only done what the director told him, has done that too in the same way, as he knows how.

Although Divya Bharathi, who plays the heroine, does not have a big job, some scenes have been imposed in the film just to force her.

Kingston Movie Review
Alagamperumal, Chethan, Kumaravel, Sabumon Abdusamad, who plays the villain, Antony, Rajesh Balachandran, Arunachaleswaran.PA, Praveen, and Payar Karthik, who have played other roles, have done their job properly.

Gokul Pinoy, the cinematographer who is known for his green-matted films, has tried to bring the beauty, danger and grandeur of the sea to the screen, but since everything has to be brought through green-matted, his efforts have failed.

G.V. Prakash Kumar, who has been a struggling actor but has achieved success as a composer, has been so frustrated with the music of his own film that it is shocking to the fans. The songs are forced and cannot be enjoyed. The background music is so loud that it hurts the ears and causes headaches.

Editor San Lokesh has edited the scenes with the confusion of whether the horror in the story is important or the twists in the background of the horror are important, so even the suspense passes by without adding any interest to the screenplay.

Kamal Prakash, who has written and directed the film, has tried to tell the horror story that takes place at sea in a fantasy style. However, due to the lack of a compelling story and a strong screenplay, his fantasy and horror ideas did not make any impression on the audience.

Although the team’s hard work is evident through the supernatural imagery created through graphics and the confrontation with spirits at sea, the visuals in those places are a bit weak for the film.
