Romantic films have always held a special place in Tamil cinema. Movies such as Mouna Ragam, Alaipayuthey, Minnale, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, and 96, released across different eras, have left an unforgettable impression on audiences.
Joining that celebrated line-up is Haiku, a romantic film crafted for the new generation. Leading distribution company Shakthi Film Factory has acquired the Tamil theatrical distribution rights of the film. This marks the third collaboration between Shakthi Film Factory and the Haiku team, reflecting the mutual trust and strong association between the company and the filmmakers.
A leading name in theatrical distribution, Shakthi Film Factory is known for selecting commercially promising films and taking them to audiences. With the company coming on board for Haiku, expectations surrounding the film have received an additional boost.
While emotionally driven romantic films continue to be celebrated by audiences, Haiku is said to be a complete love story that explores the different dimensions of love. The film is set to portray contemporary romance and the emotions of today’s generation, while evoking the emotional impact that films such as Alaipayuthey, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, and 96 have created among audiences.
Written and directed by Yuvaraj Chinnasamy, the film stars Aegan, Sridevi, and Femina George in the lead roles. Siddhu Kumar has composed the music, while Priyesh is the cinematographer. Arul and Matthew have produced the film. Netflix has acquired the OTT rights to the movie.
Haiku is scheduled to release worldwide in theatres on October 23. The film has already generated considerable anticipation among audiences, particularly among fans of romantic cinema.
