National Award-winning filmmaker Sajeev Pazhoor has written and directed the upcoming Tamil film Enna Vilai. The film is produced by Jithesh Viswambharan and Anugopal Venugopalan under the banner of Kalamaya Cineverse. Starring Karunas, Nimisha Sajayan and several others, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 17. The trailer launch event of the film was held recently.

Actor Karunas said, “I began my journey in the film industry in 2001 in Rameswaram, playing Lodukku Pandi under the direction of Bala anna. I watch a lot of Malayalam films, and I had always wanted to work on at least one film with Malayalam writers, directors and technicians. That dream has now come true.
“This film is about ordinary people. That is why the director has chosen actors who can portray the characters naturally. I may not have a huge market today. Nevertheless, the producers have invested Rs. 7 crore in this film, trusting me and believing strongly in the story. That shows how much faith they have in the film.
“Director Sajeev has raised a question in this film that has never been raised before in Indian cinema. This film has fulfilled a dream I have had for 20 years.
“Nimisha has delivered a wonderful performance as an advocate. The director has skillfully chosen the right actors for every character. I am also happy that a leading OTT platform like Netflix has acquired the film even before its theatrical release.
“After Nandha, this is the film that is closest to my heart. In all these years of my film career, this is the first time my wife has appreciated my acting after watching one of my films. Even actress Nimisha, after watching my performance, was deeply moved and hugged me and kissed me on the cheek.
