Directed by Shashank Yeleti and starring Fahadh Faasil, ‘Don’t Trouble the Trouble’, presented by director S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and S. S. Karthikeya under the banners of Arka Media Works and Showing Business, is all set to release worldwide in theatres on October 2.
The film is being distributed across Tamil Nadu by distributor Sakthivelan under the banner of Sakthi Film Factory.
As part of the film’s promotional activities, an exclusive pre-release event was held at a star hotel in Chennai. Director S. S. Rajamouli, producer S. S. Karthikeya, Fahadh Faasil, Sara Sachdev, editor Praveen Antony and distributor Sakthivelan participated in the event. Actor Suriya and producer Ishari K. Ganesh attended as special guests.

“When Hollywood wanted to showcase grandeur, they needed huge dinosaurs. But from our part of the world, our director S. S. Rajamouli showed the world grandeur through a tiny creature — a fly. ‘Don’t Trouble the Trouble’ is a film carrying the stamp of S. S. Rajamouli. Beyond this, what more can we say about the film?

When the teaser was released, we learned that Fahadh Faasil was acting in a film presented by S. S. Rajamouli. After the trailer was released, my friends from all quarters started saying that this was a film that everyone should watch and enjoy with their families. That has made us very happy.
I told producer Karthikeya that this is a film that should have been made in 3D and that it had been released in 2D. I suggested that when the film is re-released, releasing it in 3D could bring an even greater response.

“I first met this team while working on the trailer of ‘RRR’. That was when I met S. S. Rajamouli and S. S. Karthikeya. I call producer Karthikeya my brother. From that moment, they had tremendous faith in me, which is why they entrusted me with the editing of this film.
Having faith in me does not mean that they would approve everything I do. I don’t even know how many versions of the trailer we created. If I edited it in one way, Karthikeya would say it was good but that the first part could be changed slightly. I would change it and then he would say the first part was okay but the second part could be changed. We would then change the second part as well.
I am saying this because he never takes anything lightly. Karthikeya is very clear about what impact a trailer should create and what kind of response it should generate. That is something I learned from this team.
- S. Rajamouli is also the same way. When you work with him, you are constantly amazed that you are actually working with him.
When I read the screenplay of this film, I asked director Shashank how he planned to visualise certain portions. Generally, people say that if even 60 percent of what is written in a screenplay is translated effectively onto the screen, that itself is a great achievement. But, in my view, this film has been executed with 200 percent perfection.
They have translated the screenplay into a visual language with 200 percent precision. The director’s vision, the cinematographer’s vision and Fahadh Faasil’s contribution make it special.
When Fahadh Faasil and Sara appear together on screen, this will not be merely a children’s film; it will be a film for everyone. It is the kind of film that families can enjoy together during the quarterly examination holidays.
This has not been made merely as a Tamil-dubbed film. They have paid attention to even the smallest details specifically for the Tamil audience. My thanks to everyone.”

“My biggest thanks to ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan, who has lent his voice to the Tamil preview of this film.
Congratulations and thanks to Suriya, who has delivered a double dhamaka with ‘Karuppu’ and ‘Viswanath & Sons’. Through ‘Singam’, you portrayed a mass police officer, and we hope that in ‘Sein’ you will once again portray a different kind of police officer. We are eagerly waiting for that film in November and wish it success as well.
Once, a great architect told me, ‘If you can draw the outline of a building on your fingernail, that is the best building.’ I believe the same applies to cinema. A two-and-a-half-hour film should be expressible as a story in two or three lines. That is what makes a great film. This is what I told director Shashank.
When the director came to meet me to narrate the story, he said, ‘Give me three hours and I will tell you the story of this film.’ I told him that I definitely could not spare three hours and asked whether he could tell me the story in five minutes.
He asked how that would be possible. I told him that if he could tell me the story in five minutes and I liked it, I would then listen to the full two-and-a-half-hour story.
He thought for a moment and said, ‘I don’t need five minutes. I can tell you the story in one sentence.’
He said, ‘It is the story of a man who kidnaps a ghost.’ I immediately loved it. Everything in the story ran through my mind from that one sentence. That is why I found the story fascinating. The work on the film began after that.
Everyone knows that Fahadh Faasil is a brilliant actor. He has played different kinds of characters in films such as ‘Kumbalangi Nights’, ‘Joji’ and ‘Trance’. Even today, I am amazed at how he chooses such characters. I have often wondered why he continues to take on characters with dark shades. His performance in this film is also special.
To say it again, he is the rascal of this film. He has performed wonderfully as Soori. When I watched the first copy of this film without dubbing and without music, I cried and laughed. That is how deeply the film affected me. He has brought Soori to life to that extent. I thank him for that.
Divya is the one who constantly chases Soori in the film. Sara plays that character and has performed brilliantly. Although Soori says on screen that Divya is his best friend, the two of them were almost like rivals while acting on the sets. They would have competed with each other to perform better than the other.
In every scene, every dialogue and every small performance, Divya is the perfect competitor to Soori. I am sure audiences will enjoy this rivalry.
As editor Praveen said, this is a film for everyone in the family, from grandchildren to grandparents. It releases in theatres on October 2. I request everyone to come with their families and experience the magical experience this film offers.

“From the moment I heard this story, there are only two things that have remained in my mind. I would like to share those.
Producer Karthikeya sent me a message saying, ‘I have sent you only two stories. Whichever of these two stories you choose is fine with us.’
I then met him and heard both stories. I liked both of them and said that I wanted to act in both. That was when he told me, ‘I am producing them.’ That made me happy.
Then he told me one more thing: ‘S. S. Rajamouli is presenting this film.’ As soon as he said that, I told him, ‘Why don’t you make it with actors better than me?’
I don’t think I have ever had a good opening in Telugu so far. I hope this film changes that. I thank the producer and Rajamouli for this.
Producer Karthikeya told me that Suriya would be attending this event. I became even happier when I heard that because he is like a brother to me. Thank you for coming here today and wishing us well.
I have never heard a story like this before, nor have I seen a film like this. I have never played a character like this either. It is very new. That is why I immediately agreed to be part of it.
We shot this film for 100 to 120 days. When I recently watched the film, I was amazed. My thanks to director Shashank Yeleti, cinematographer Brad Francis, production designers Sandeep and Mohan, music composer Kaala Bhairava, editor Praveen Antony and everyone who worked on this film.
Thank you to producer S. S. Karthikeya. ‘Don’t Trouble the Trouble’ was being shot in one studio in Hyderabad, while ‘Varanasi’ was being shot in the studio next to it. He is the producer of both films. Yet he was always with our team. I thank him for that.
If there is one child who has always amazed me, it is Sara. During filming, she would even suggest how I could deliver my dialogue in a particular scene. I can say that I have never had a co-star who worked with me with this much dedication. Sara is an amazing co-star.

“I am very happy to be here with the team of ‘Don’t Trouble the Trouble’ this evening.
There is a word called hospitality. I used to think that we were the ones who celebrated hospitality the best. But in Andhra and Telangana, they practise hospitality even better than us. We cannot match them in hospitality. They shower us with unconditional love to that extent.
Cinema, for me, continues to surprise us. We have been watching cinema since we were born. I am now 50 years old. Yet every film continues to surprise us with new ideas and new attempts.
That is how I look at this film as well. It is a combination that nobody would have expected — Fahadh Faasil, Rajamouli and Karthikeya. None of us would have imagined that such a film would come from this combination.
Such a trailer, and such a story within it. Can a person kidnap a ghost? That is something nobody could imagine. What happens after the ghost is kidnapped? Nobody can predict that either. That is why I am eagerly looking forward to this film.
Fahadh has called me his elder brother. I am happy about that. We have spoken a lot — morning, afternoon, evening, night and even midnight. We have many beautiful memories together.
We have spoken about incidents from our early days and about the similarities in our lives. We did not reach where we are today easily. We stumbled, fell, got back up and eventually reached this point. We have spoken about all of that wholeheartedly. I thank him for that.
All of us make calculations. If we make a film like this, these people will like it but those people won’t. If we make another kind of film, others will like it but some specific audience may not. We make so many calculations like a mathematics teacher.
Actors also get trapped within an image. But Fahadh Faasil is not like that. I am still making these calculations, often incorrectly. I cannot be like him.
He focuses only on his character. Is the story good? Is his character good? Can we deliver this content correctly to the audience? That is what Fahadh thinks about. That is why he is able to choose and play characters like these.
I thank him once again for that.
He has also dubbed his character himself in all the languages. We usually think about becoming a character. Fahadh actually becomes the character.
Whenever there is a child in a film, they make that world feel real. In that sense, child artist Sara has acted very well in this film. Everyone is appreciating her performance.
We should not get confused about whether to pronounce a dialogue this way or that way. In this film, your dialogue is beautiful and natural.
A director may have the imagination to create a story like this. If a child actor is going to be part of it, the director needs to have the mind of a child to handle them.
The films I watched as a child are still fresh in my mind. Today, we are not providing enough films specifically for children above six or eight years of age. We show them children’s films made by Netflix, Amazon and Walt Disney. We should all come together and create films that children can watch too.
In that sense, this is a children’s film for adults. It has all kinds of emotions.
Thank you, Rajamouli, for completing 25 years as a filmmaker. I think I have been in the film industry for around 28 or 29 years. If you give me an opportunity to appear in one of your films for one day, or even for one minute, in a special role, I would be grateful.
Thank you for always supporting new talent and new content. Thank you for putting your stamp on them as well. Your statement that this film has a new story has given tremendous confidence to the entire team.
Thank you for taking Indian cinema to the world through your name. It has given everyone here an identity. Thank you for making people look at your films as Indian films.
I will tell you a story. I will make you sit down and watch it. I will not waste your time. Thank you for having the ability and confidence to make every audience member watch a film. I believe audiences will experience that in this film too. That is why this film makes me eager to watch it.
At a time when conventional films are being released, you have believed that different content can succeed. In that way, you have created an impact on the film industry through this film.
Similarly, as producers, there is usually a limit to how much a film can be sold for. You have challenged that as well.
Actors too have a certain boundary within which they believe they can perform. You have broken that comfortable circle and created an impact on actors as well.
