The audio launch of actor Suriya’s upcoming film “Viswanath & Sons”, directed by Venky Atluri, was held in a grand manner in Coimbatore. The film is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and presented by Srikara Studios.
The film stars Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Yogi Babu, Nassar, Kaali Venkat, George Mariyan, Rajiv Menon, and several others. Cinematography is by Nimish Ravi, while National Award-winning composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music. The family entertainer is jointly produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14.
The audio launch took place at a private college auditorium in Coimbatore in the presence of thousands of students. Among those who attended were producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, director Venky Atluri, composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, actors Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, Sunil Reddy, lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj, and producer Rajasekar Pandian.
Lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj
Arunraja Kamaraj said G.V. Prakash Kumar was the first person to give him such a grand opportunity and introduced him as a lyricist during his struggling days. He expressed gratitude for having worked with G.V. from his very first film.
He revealed that watching Suriya’s Aaytha Ezhuthu inspired him to become a director, making it especially meaningful to now write and sing for Suriya’s film.
Calling Suriya his greatest inspiration throughout life, he thanked him and also appreciated director Venky Atluri for trusting him with the film’s songs.
He added that after writing several hero-introduction songs, he finally got the opportunity to pen a romantic number, “Pattampoochi,” which has become a major hit. He thanked Venky Atluri, Suriya, and G.V. Prakash Kumar for the opportunity.
Actress Mamitha Baiju
Mamitha thanked the producers and director for believing in her.
She described Venky Atluri as a calm and relaxed filmmaker and said she would love to work with him again.
She revealed that she had previously missed an opportunity to act with Suriya but finally got the chance in this film. Calling it an unforgettable experience, she said she learned many things from Suriya, including his discipline, preparation, professionalism, and humility.
She also praised Radhika Sarathkumar for guiding her throughout the shoot and said the chemistry between Suriya and Sunil Reddy would be one of the film’s highlights.
GV. Prakash Kumar
G.V. Prakash thanked producers Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya for giving him another opportunity after the success of Vaathi.
He said Viswanath & Sons is very special because it reunites him with Suriya after Soorarai Pottru, a film that earned both of them National Awards.
He also recalled the personal support Suriya extended to him during difficult times, saying he would never forget it.
He praised his successful collaborations with Venky Atluri, including Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, and expressed confidence that their third film together would also succeed.
Calling Viswanath & Sons a heartfelt family entertainer, he urged audiences to watch it with their families.
He announced the release of the energetic fan anthem “The One” for Suriya’s fans and praised Mamitha Baiju’s performance and dance in the hit song “Pattampoochi,” which has inspired countless social media recreations.
He concluded by saying Suriya has delivered an emotional and beautiful performance that audiences will love.
Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi
Naga Vamsi said this is his second Tamil production and noted that the film’s journey began in Coimbatore after seeking the blessings of Lord Murugan at Palani. He called Coimbatore a lucky place for their productions.
He thanked Suriya for trusting him and Venky Atluri and said Suriya appears remarkably youthful in the film. He even hinted that fans would get to see shades reminiscent of Sanjay Ramasamy after a long gap.
Although Telugu is his mother tongue, he said he shares a strong bond with Tamil audiences and expressed confidence that this film would receive the same love as Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
He also highlighted a comedy sequence featuring Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, and Radhika Sarathkumar, asking audiences to share their reactions on social media after watching it.
He further praised G.V. Prakash Kumar and hoped the film would become another musical success.
Director Venky Atluri
Venky Atluri said Coimbatore was chosen because it is Suriya’s hometown, making it the perfect place to celebrate the film with his fans.
He recalled narrating the story to producer Rajasekar Pandian of 2D Entertainment, who was moved to tears and immediately arranged a meeting with Suriya.
After hearing the script, Suriya instantly agreed to do the film, fulfilling Venky’s wish of working with him.
He praised Mamitha Baiju for bringing energy and warmth to the shooting spot, describing her as a younger sister to everyone on set.
Speaking about G.V. Prakash Kumar, he said the composer consistently exceeds his expectations and has delivered outstanding background music.
Venky described the film as a feel-good entertainer that would leave audiences smiling throughout.
He added that Viswanath & Sons is a new-age film that would appeal to Gen Z audiences while also connecting deeply with families.
Actor Suriya
Suriya thanked fans for turning the event into a grand celebration from the moment he arrived in Coimbatore.
Although he did not celebrate his birthday this year, he said he had closely followed all the charitable activities undertaken by his fans, including over 5,000 blood donations, welfare initiatives benefiting more than 40,000 people, and gifts distributed to children. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for their unconditional love.
Reflecting on his childhood in Coimbatore, Suriya shared fond memories of spending every summer vacation there—walking through fields, climbing trees, swimming in wells, riding bullock carts, and enjoying village life.
He recently revisited those places with his children Diya and Dev, sharing those precious memories with them.
He then urged everyone to reduce their screen time and spend more meaningful moments with family.
“Create memories. Preserve them. The memories made with people are far more valuable than those created by constantly looking at a phone.”
Suriya also thanked everyone who supported the release of his previous film Karuppu and revealed that its 100-day celebration would be held soon.
He praised producer Naga Vamsi for focusing not just on investment but also on delivering quality cinema to audiences.
Suriya appreciated G.V. Prakash Kumar, recalling how he had admired the composer from his younger days and describing Soorarai Pottru as one of their most memorable collaborations.
He praised Mamitha Baiju’s performance, noting that she had even dubbed for herself in Tamil.
Speaking about director Venky Atluri, Suriya said watching Lucky Baskhar convinced him of the director’s talent. He called Viswanath & Sons a film that gives him a completely new identity and praised Venky’s writing, especially the way he developed the three important female characters.
He described the film as a perfect blend of romance, family emotions, comedy, and heroism, promising that audiences would leave theatres with a smile.
Concluding his speech, Suriya wished everyone a Happy Friendship Day and encouraged fans to believe in themselves.
