Preview event of the 18th Edison Awards ceremony!
Just as appreciation from fans encourages the hard work of film artists, awards serve as recognition for them. The Edison Awards have been identifying and honoring such talented artists. The preview event of the 18th Edison Awards ceremony was held in Chennai.
Speaking at the event, actor Radharavi said, “It is a proud thing that the Edison Awards have been conducted for 18 years. I have known Selvakumar for many years. He should continue to conduct this award function for many more years. Being in cinema itself is a matter of pride. It is खुशी that this event serves as recognition for people in the film industry.”
Dr. CMK Reddy said, “It is not an ordinary thing for an organization to run for 18 years overcoming many struggles and hardships. Congratulations to Selvakumar for that. A common issue faced by both the medical field and the film industry is real-life challenges. Producers should come forward to make films that encourage people to give up harmful habits like smoking, which harms society.”
Director Vikraman said, “It is a proud moment to participate in the Edison Awards. My son won the Edison Award for Best Debut Actor. My wish is that he should go on to win Best Actor awards for his future films. Like the Filmfare Awards, National Awards, and Tamil Nadu State Awards, the Edison Award is also a prestigious one. I hope this award function reaches even greater heights.”
Actor Jegan said, “I have hosted the Edison Awards ceremony for three consecutive years. This award has given motivation and encouragement to many. Radharavi sir has a great sense of humor, and a good example is the film ‘Chinna Mapillai’ in which he acted. I am a big fan of Ambika ma’am; I like all her films. I also like Vikraman sir’s films. Congratulations to the Edison Awards for completing 18 years.”
Actress Ambika said, “Congratulations to this award function that has been running for 18 years. I have known Selva for many years. I had said I would attend the event depending on my shooting schedule, and the right moment came. Radharavi anna is like family to me. I am happy to participate in the event and meet all of you.”
Stunt master Silva said, “Even though we have grown this much today, in the early days of entering the film industry, we always had the longing for someone other than the director to appreciate and recognize our work. It is a खुशी that the Edison Awards identify such talents and honor them. Winning the Edison Award for my film ‘Chithirai Sevvaanam’ is unforgettable. Singer Anthony Daasan said, “Thank you for inviting me to this award function. In my early days, the applause from people around me gave me great encouragement. After entering the film industry, awards gave me that same encouragement. My respects to the Edison Awards for honoring people like me.”

Even though I have ideological differences with Radharavi anna, he is a very kind person. He has spoken highly of me in many places. Though I have many friends in the film industry, it was Radharavi anna who recognized me and appreciated me publicly. Establishing a medical college in every district, engineering colleges, rainwater harvesting schemes, and the lottery ban law—these are all my achievements. However, they did not become major talking points, and the recognition was taken by those in power. But I am the core behind them. The one who publicly acknowledged and praised this was Radharavi anna. The Tamilaga Vazhvurimai Katchi is a political movement started for the people of Tamil Nadu and Tamils around the world.
