Actor Ravi Mohan’s popular film “Tham Thoom” is set to hit theatres again with a grand re-release. The film, which originally became a hit among youth, is now returning in a refreshed format to delight fans once more.
The re-release is being organized on a large scale by Kandasamy and Balasubramani of Murugan Film Factory. Both have experience distributing multiple hit films in the Salem region and also operate the Grand Cinemas multiplex in Hosur. With this re-release, they aim to provide audiences with a nostalgic cinematic experience.
Originally released on August 28, 2008, “Tham Thoom” was a major hit among young audiences at the time. Its fully filmed overseas sequences, high-octane fight scenes, and beautiful romantic moments captivated the youth of that era. The film still remains memorable, especially for the 2K generation.
The film also marked the Tamil debut of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut as the lead heroine, who is now a leading actress in Hindi cinema and active in politics. Other notable actors in the film include Rai Lakshmi, Jayaram, Bose Venkat, and Pithamagan Mahadevan.
The music composed by Harris Jayaraj, including both songs and background score, was a major highlight of the film. Many tracks from that era remain popular with fans today.
Directed by the late cinematographer and filmmaker Jeva, “Tham Thoom” was a complete commercial entertainer with strong box-office appeal. The film was originally produced with high investment by Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited and Ayngaran International / Metro Film (P) Ltd.
After 18 years, “Tham Thoom” has been digitally remastered and upgraded with 5.1 audio sound quality for its theatrical re-release. The film will hit cinemas in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka on April 10.
Following this, Kandasamy and Balasubramani of Murugan Film Factory plan to re-release several more successful films in the near future.
For Ravi Mohan fans and audiences wanting to relive the magic of the 2000s, the re-release of “Tham Thoom” promises to be a special cinematic experience.
