Produced by Marutham Productions, ‘Maha Sena’ is a film written and directed by Dinesh Kalaiselvan. It is a grand forest-based action thriller genre film that combines nature, spirituality, forest heritage and human ethics. Vimal plays the lead role in this film. Srushti Dange plays the female lead. Along with them, Yogi Babu, Mahima Gupta, John Vijay, Kabir Duhan Singh, Alfred Jose, Sivakrishna, Ilakkiya, Vijay Seyon play important roles, and the film’s main symbol is the character of an elephant, Sena.
The film’s music is composed by A. Praveen Kumar and Uday Prakash, and the background music is composed by Uday Prakash. D.R. Manas Babu has handled the cinematography. Nagooran Ramachandran has edited the film, while V.S. Dinesh Kumar has served as the art director. Dinesh Kalaiselvan has written the lyrics, while Dasta and Ameer have choreographed the dance sequences. Ram Kumar has designed the action sequences.
Shot in 90% real forests in areas including Gudalur, Wayanad, Kollimalai and Ooty, the film depicts the conflict between the divine forces of nature and the destructive greed of humanity with immersive visuals. The grand festival climax, emotional storyline and advanced CGI techniques are sure to draw the audience into a world where divinity and adventure merge.
The film’s soundtrack features four new songs composed by A. Praveen Kumar and Uday Prakash (UPR). Noted singers Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, V.M. Mahalingam, V.V. Prasanna and Priyanka NK. The songs sung by them combine tribal rhythms and spiritual melodies.
The audio launch of the film ‘Mahasena’, which will be released in theaters worldwide on December 12, was held on November 30 at Prasad Label, Chennai. The film crew participated in this and shared many special information about the film. Also, the music album of the film, important scenes and the way the film was made were released at the event. It was very well received by everyone who attended.
Speaking at the event, the film’s director Dinesh Kalaiselvan said, “Mahasena is a story about hope, power and the harmonious balance of nature. In this film, the forest is not a backdrop — it is a living character. Through this journey, I wanted to show how greed disrupts divine unity and how spirituality restores it.”
The film is being released worldwide, including Tamil Nadu, on December 12, 2025, by PVR INOX Pictures. With its stunning visuals, spiritual depth, and emotional storytelling, Mahasena ensures a unique cinematic journey that takes viewers into the depths of the soul within the forests.
