The music launch event for the film ‘Nirvagam Poruppalla’ (Management is Not Responsible), starring and directed by newcomer S. Karthieeshwaran, was held in Chennai. Produced by D. Radhakrishnan under the banner of R.K. Dream Factory, the film is set for a theatrical release on December 5 through Soriyan Media Entertainment.
Director K. Bhagyaraj released the film’s music and trailer, which were jointly received by Virugambakkam MLA Thiru A.M.V. Prabhakar Raja and director-actor Gaurav Narayanan.
The cast of ‘Nirvagam Poruppalla’ includes S. Karthieeshwaran, Livingston, Imman Annachi, Black Pandi, Raana, Adhavan, Akalya Venkatesan, Sri Nithi, Gothai Santhanam, Ammanpuram Saravanan, Radhakrishnan, M.R. Arjun, Mridhula Suresh, Jaya Sri Sasidharan, Deekshanya, Manju, and Sarkar Meena. The film is shot by N.S. Rajesh Kumar and the music is composed by Srikanth Deva.
The film, which aims to create awareness about scams and frauds, is produced by D. Radhakrishnan of R.K. Dream Factory. M. Bhuvaneshwaran (K.M.P. Productions) and C. Saju – Jothilakshmi (S.P.M. Studios) have served as co-producers. Soriyan Media Entertainment is handling the film’s statewide release across Tamil Nadu.
The music and trailer launch event, held in Chennai ahead of the worldwide release on December 5, was graced by the film crew along with special guests: Director K. Bhagyaraj, Director Gaurav Narayanan, Virugambakkam MLA A.M.V. Prabhakar Raja, and Film Censor Board member Sowdhamani.
Key Speeches at the Event 🗣️
Producer D. Radhakrishnan: Stated that he had no prior connection to cinema and thanked the ‘Nirvagam Poruppalla’ team for bringing him into the film family. He extended his gratitude to the special guests, relatives, friends, and the cast and crew.
Lyricist Karunakaran: Expressed heartfelt thanks to the director and music director for the opportunity to write all the songs in the film. He mentioned that a chance to work with Srikanth Deva on the 2004 film ‘Ey’ was missed, and he is happy to finally collaborate on all the songs for this film.
Actress Manju: Said that everyone, at some point, has been a victim of fraud. Since the film is based on true events, she urged the audience to come to the theatres, watch, enjoy, and support the film.
Actor Black Pandi: Thanked actor Adhavan for the opportunity and the director/producer. He shared his personal experience of falling victim to an online scam. While travelling to the hospital for his second daughter’s treatment, his wife mistakenly clicked a link on her phone, and all the money saved for the hospital fee was stolen from his bank account. He spoke about the mental distress he faced and urged people to be fully aware when using WhatsApp and handling links or sharing personal photos. He praised the team’s hard work and wished the film success.
Censor Board Member Sowdhamani:
Introduced herself as a news reader and a consultative committee member of the Central Board of Film Certification.
Commended the team for handling a subject (fraud) that is pervasive and affects everyone in society.
Stated that cybercrimes in India amounted to ₹17,000 crores in the last year alone, and people are daily being deceived through online fraud, digital arrests, trading scams, and investment frauds. She highlighted that victims of cyber fraud have committed suicide and lost their livelihoods.
Reaffirmed that the Censor Board prioritizes films that offer lessons, awareness, and good thoughts to society, and applauded the team for creating such a film.
Actor Imman Annachi: Thanked the producer for believing in the debut actor and director. He also made a plea to replace the ceremonial shawls at such events with useful items like Turkish towels.
Actress Mridhula Suresh: Thanked the special guests and described the film as having a strong message required by society, blended with entertainment. She requested everyone to visit the theatres.
Music Composer Srikanth Deva:
Expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of his father, Deva, whose 75th birthday coincided with the event. A song sung by his father was screened to honour him.
Wished the producer, who is from a different background, great success, saying the film will surely bring profit.
Spoke about the inspiration he draws from the continuous hard work of lyricist Karunakaran.
Director Gaurav Narayanan:
Thanked K. Bhagyaraj, crediting his screenwriting expertise as the reason he, as the South Indian representative on the National Award Jury, pushed for ‘Parking’ to win the National Award for Best Screenplay.
Confidently stated that the film will succeed due to the producer’s deep affection for his father, and the positivity brought by Srikanth Deva’s contribution.
Shared the difficulty of making films on scams, recalling that the inspiration for his film ‘Sigaram Thodu’ (ATM fraud) came from meeting a scammer who had earned ₹70 lakhs using just a visiting card. He hopes the details about frauds in this movie will be relatable and useful, leading to success.
Virugambakkam MLA A.M.V. Prabhakar Raja:
Expressed pride in attending the event as a member of a party whose leaders, like Kalaignar, the current CM, and former Deputy CM, have roots in the film industry.
Noted the huge change in the industry, where films now are advertised as mega hits after only three days, unlike the long runs of films from K. Bhagyaraj’s era.
Emphasized that today’s youth look up to actors, making conscious content crucial.
Attributed the high rate of fraud victims among the educated to greed. He advised people to plan their needs well and live within limits to avoid scams. He stressed that both the government and the public must work together to prevent fraud.
Director-Actor S. Karthieeshwaran: Said that everyone has been knowingly or unknowingly caught in some fraud. He couldn’t understand why people kept falling for scams even after knowing about them. He explained that he has included four types of scams in the film, presented in an entertaining way. He thanked K. Bhagyaraj for instilling the confidence in him to act and direct simultaneously.
Director K. Bhagyaraj:
Stated that all credit belongs not to God, but to the fans (Rasippa Perumakkale), as without them, no one would be there.
Praised Srikanth Deva for following his father Deva’s footsteps in scoring music for both star vehicles and small-budget films.
Remarked that scammers have higher intelligence than ordinary people but use it negatively.
Shared that the director’s core idea—”I was cheated, so I decided to cheat others. That’s the line, sir”—was fascinating, like removing a thorn with a thorn. He expressed confidence that a film based on a true incident will surely be a success.
