The press conference of the film Kumki-2, produced by Thaval Gada and presented by Dr. Jayanthi Lal Gada (Pen Studios), was held in Chennai on 06.11.2025. The film, directed by Prabhu Solomon, features debutant Madhi, Sritha Rao, Andrews, Arjun Das, Akash, Srinath, Harish Peradi and director Thiruchelvam among others. Nivas K Prasanna has composed the music. Sukumar has handled the cinematography. The special guests and crew who attended the event spoke as follows:
Actress Sritha Rao said,
I am happy that my dream has come true. I am very happy to have worked with director Prabhu Solomon sir. There is no light when shooting in the forest. There is no network on the mobile phone. We have worked on the film amidst many such problems.
Hero Madhi was very supportive. When you look at Sukumar’s cinematography, it looks like a beautiful dream. Lingusamy sir, Bose sir and everyone said thank you.
While speaking, Director Nithilan said,
Director Prabhu Solomon is a very realistic and honest person. He does not hesitate to say what is on his mind. In a TV debate, he said that we do not want a good film that does not run, we do not want a bad film that runs, we want a good film that runs. I liked that very much. He was one of the judges in tomorrow’s director’s show. At that time, he would beautifully highlight the shortcomings. He would even describe the shortcomings positively. Prabhu Solomon sir is the main reason why I am standing here. My thanks to him.
Everyone knows that Kumki is an important film in Tamil cinema. Similarly, they say it is a fan boy incident, right? He said something like that, a fan incident. If the film is a huge success like he said, I hope it will be another peacekeeping film. I think that film will be released after Kumki-2.

Speaking, director Madon Ashwin said,
The feeling of participating in the director’s show tomorrow is still coming to me. Because Prabhu Solomon sir, who was a judge, is there. Keekee, who hosted the show, is also there. Prabhu Solomon sir was the one who led a group like Nithilan, Pakiyaraj Kannan, Aswath Marimathu, who participated in that season, and became a director.
After watching my short film, he said, “Tell me a story, I will produce it.” I left my job. But, I don’t have a story right now, so I said, “I will work with you as an assistant director.”
His favorite place to tell stories is his Innova car. I know a line of stories from the sequel to the yet-to-be-released film Mambo. In it, Kumki-2 is the only one he didn’t talk about. If he had talked about it, I would have read this story too.
I am eager to see people celebrate this film in the theaters just as I enjoyed watching Kumki-1.

Speaking, director Brinda Sarathi said,
I have been writing dialogues for Lingusamy’s film. Not only because I write well, but because he is his friend, he is giving me opportunities.
Although Madhi is the second generation in her family to enter the cinema, Corona has shown that it is not easy to succeed. I wish Madhi to act in many films and succeed by listening to good stories like this.
Where are birds, animals, squirrels, etc. in a forest? Sukumar has shown it beautifully by knowing the forest in detail, starting from what it would be like if a raindrop falls in the forest. Prabhu Solomon sir knows the forest better than Veerappan.
The song I listened to the most recently is Theekolthi. This song and the film Bison have opened a big door for Nivas Ke Prasanna. At this time, Kumki-2 is even more special. Congratulations to Nivas Ke Prasanna.
Animals have more feelings and knowledge than humans. Prabhu Solomon said that this film has shown the bond between a boy and an elephant very well.

I saw Lingusamy in the office when this film was in production. I thought the entire film was a forest. Only later did I realize that Jayanthi Lal Ghada was the reason.
I am standing here on behalf of the protagonist Madhi. It is not a common thing to get such an opportunity when every hero grows up, a director who feeds their passion, a producer who does not hesitate to say any obstacle. All these have been received by the audience.
Prabhu Solomon is emotional in the film. There are many examples of all his actors going on long journeys. There is no doubt that he will go in the afternoon as well.
Nivas K Prasanna, who had been composing music for 10 years, is singing today. After a long time, I heard good music only in the film Bison.
Similarly, I was amazed by the film Mandela. It is happy that many young directors have come here and started this festival.

I was in Tirunelveli during the shooting of my film Kumki-1. When I went to the cinema hall to watch it, in the waterfall scene, they put lights around the screen like they do in a Superstar film and named the person who shot this song Sukumar. Everyone in the cinema hall celebrated.
A film with an elephant will never fail. He said that this film will definitely be successful.

They call me the protagonist. But, I think I need to mix with the soul in music and go deeper. The starting point for all this to happen was Prabhu Solomon sir. In the 2020 Corona era, there will be no one on the road in Chennai. We will take food from home in the morning and go. We will have 2 meals a day. We will continue to take it every scene every day.
This film is very special to me. In the previous film, Kumki, Imman sir made a big name in the team. I took the soul for this film from that film. But I am grateful for being given the opportunity to express my uniqueness.
I saw the discipline in the hero Madhi in managing time very well. If it is 7 o’clock, he will not come at 7.01 o’clock or 6.59 o’clock. He will come exactly at 7 o’clock.

I saw Kumki-2. I liked it. Shooting in the forest is very difficult. But, everyone has worked hard. Especially Madhi has fought very hard. She is the Hrithik Roshan of Tamil cinema.
Music has no language. The music in the first film Kumki was good. Similarly, he said that Nivas K Prasanna’s music in Kumki-2 is very good.

Thank you to all my friends, all the producers, family members and everyone who came to congratulate me. The paths and hardships we have gone through for this film cannot be described.
My technical artists, editor Bhuvan, art director Thennarasu, cinematographer Sukumar who worked with me for this have put in hard work. Madhi, Andro, Shraddha, Arjun Das and many other actors have participated. This is not an ordinary matter. It takes 4 to 5 hours to go by jeep into the forest for shooting in Nellaiyambudi. When we first went to see the location, all the internal organs in the body were shaken.
We shot at that place without electricity or mobile network. An old British guest house. The entire crew had a hard time in the cold of a dormitory. Many people got skin problems from the mosquitoes there.
This film is a long journey. We started in 2018, finished in 2019 and released in December. But in 2020-2021, there was a lockdown. Corona came and turned everything upside down. But, Lingusamy sir and Jayanthilal Gada sir were the most supportive in all this.
The first reel hard disk will be in Bengaluru. I don’t know which engineer has the next reel. After that, we started the next phase of work for the film in 2023.
I always want my work to be perfect. I had to fight a lot for that.
No matter how much I thank the producer, he has been patient for all these years.
My children Ashwin, Nithilan, director Brinda Sarathi, Jagan, and Saran have come here to congratulate me, thank you.
Similarly, Bharathi Kannan, director Thiruchelvam, and Akash have come. Also, two people who worked on the film have died during the Corona period.
James Cameron, who directed the film Titanic, said that he would give all this to the music composer with 11 Oscars in his hand. Because I built this ship, but he gave it life. Similarly, everyone has given their best effort. But Nivas K Prasanna has given his soul.
While watching the film, I can see that his music has been rewritten at many places. I have bothered Nivas K Prasanna a lot. I have seen his grief. However, he also understood that the film was for the good. He said this is his time to shine.
Speaking to Director Lingusamy,
Kada sir is like Gad to us. He does not know Tamil, I do not know Hindi. However, we would have talked for 2 to 3 hours. But I realized that cinema has no language.
Without Kaada sir, Rajini Murugan’s film would not have been released. When I met him for the Hindi film Bhaiya, he gave me 14 crores.
Ghada is a great producer who can release 189 films in Hindi in a year.
Rajini sir and Kamal sir came to the festival of Kumki-1 and congratulated me. But Jayantilal Ghada sir was the one who could release their films in Hindi. He introduced Madhi. He blessed Madhi with Hrithik Roshan.
This film may have been very late. But Ghada sir praised Prabhu Solomon as a great director after watching the film.
I went to see how Kumki-1 was doing in Tiruvannamalai. In our cinema hall, such a crowd had only been seen for films like Ulagak Kuttum Valiban, Trisoolam, Oru Thalai Ragam, 16 Vayathinile, Murattuk Kaalai before. They said that Kumki was also included in that list.
I don’t know if there will be more songs in Kumki-2 than in Kumki-1. But, like Nivas Ke Prasanna’s previous film, it is enough if it is in this film. The entire spotlight of cinema is on Nivas Ke Prasanna.
Maharaja directed by Nithilan will be one of my top 10 films.
Kumki-2 will definitely be a huge success.
