DMK president, five-time chief minister of Tamil Nadu, journalist, writer and famed script writer of Tamil cinema, M Karunanidhi, passed away in Chennai today.
He breathed his last at Kauvery Hospital at Alwarpet where medical treatment was provided to him for age related ailments for more than 10 days.
Earlier, a statement from Kauvery Hospital said his condition is extremely critical and unstable.
It said there has been significant decline in the clinical condition of Kalaignar Dr M Karunanidhi over the last few hours. Despite maximum medical support, his vital organ functions continue to deteriorate.
