Baahubali 2 Movie Review

The movie which is one of the most expected sequels has hit the screens and it must be said that the second part has easily outplayed the first part.

Director S S Rajamouli has kept the audience engaged right from the word go. Even during the title card, the director portrays a few important scenes from the first part for the audience to recollect the events. His biggest strength is the screenplay which keeps the audience guessing.

After winning over the Kaalakeyas, Prabhas (Baahubali) is announced as the King and Rana is made the army general.

Even as the date is fixed for the swearing-in ceremony, Ramyakrishanan orders Prabhas to have a look at the country to understand the plight of the people and their needs.

Prabhas is joined by Sathyaraj. On their journey, Prabhas falls in love with Anushka Shetty who is the princess of a small state under Mahizhmathi.

To win her love, Prabhas acts as a novice, however in sudden turn of events Prabhas had to reveal who he is.

In the meantime, Rana who is looking to take his revenge on Prabhas finds about his love and decides to double cross him.

Rana in a cunning way makes Ramya Krishnan to promise him to marry Anushka.

Prabhas on the other hands promises Anushka that he will protect her at all cost. What happens after this, Which event led to Kattappa killing Baahubali is said in a most engaging manner.

Prabhas plays the role of the warrior with ease and does not try too much. He has outperformed himself compared to the first part.

Rana with his big built body uses his brain to fulfil his wishes and makes the audience hate him even with the way he looks.

Anushka who had a very few scenes in the first part, has a meaty role as a warrior princess in this part and comes throughout the movie.

While Rana and Prabhas used their physique to awe the audience, Sathyaraj, Nassar and Ramya Krishnan grab the attention with their near perfect acting skills. Tammannaah had a very few scenes and has nailed it.

Maragadhamani’s BGM is one of the biggest highlight of the movie which goes well with the cinematography of KK Senthil Kumar. Visual effects is another highlight.

The director has delivered more than what he had promised and the movie has certainly lived up to the hype.

Baahubali 2 is a movie which has to be enjoyed as a journey to another world
